Rate No Mercy

Triple H No Mercy is turning out to be one of the most talked about PPVs of the year in terms of match quality. But which contest was the best? Triple H vs. Jeff Hardy? The Ladder Match? Undertaker vs. Big Show? Or something else? Rate No Mercy 2008.

1

Triple H

The Game finished the week with two successful WWE title defenses. One against Jeff Hardy at No Mercy, and the other against the Big Show, when the match was thrown out.

2

Chris Jericho

Retained the World title in a ladder match against Shawn Michaels, and I'd imagine will probably retain at Cyber Sunday against Batista.

3

Shawn Michaels

HBK may have lost at No Mercy, but come on dudes, it was a frikkin ladder match! Also, he destroyed Lance Cade on RAW.

4

Batista

After dismantling JBL twice this week, Big Dave is getting another title shot. How many PPVs in the last 2 years did NOT involve Batista in a world title match?

5

Jeff Hardy

Jeff lost against Triple H at No Mercy, but likely will get another crack at Cyber Sunday. I can't imagine many people spending money to vote in Vladimir.

6

The Big Show

The Big Show KO'd the legendary Undertaker at No Mercy, and nearly did the same to Triple H on Smackdown. Will Show get another title shot, perhaps at Survivor Series?

7

Vladimir Kozlov

Has an opportunity to get voted into the WWE title match at Cyber Sunday, but I don't know how likely it is, even in the 3-way. Will the Russians be texting?

8

Santino Marella

The Honk-o-meter could come to an abrupt stop at Cyber Sunday with Santino defending against 1 of 3 legendary former IC champs. Either way, Glamorella has been a great ride so far.

9

Matt Hardy

Matt retained the ECW title at No Mercy, cleanly defeating Mark Henry, but lost in a tag match on RAW. Personally I don't see Hardy's reign being memorable but you never know.

10

R-Truth

The Truth defeated Shelton Benjamin again on Smackdown, and I'd be shocked if he isn't US Champion by the end of Cyber Sunday.

1

Triple H

After reuniting with Shawn Michaels on RAW, Triple H won the Champion of Champions match on Smackdown.

2

Chris Jericho

Came up short in Smackdown's mega main event but is still the World Champion.

3

Jeff Hardy

Got the win for his team in Smackdown's opener, and has a great chance to go over Triple H at No Mercy. Or, will they hold off and have Jeff win in a 3-way with Kozlov at Cyber Sunday?

4

Santino Marella

Continues to entertain with the Honk-o-meter, this week on both RAW and Smackdown.

5

Shawn Michaels

A DX reunion on RAW, and Shawn Michaels has the chance to deliver another ladder match classic this Sunday.

6

CM Punk

Still a notch below the main eventers since winning the title, Punk gets the win over the tag champs on Smackdown.

7

Matt Hardy

The ECW champion failed to win Smackdown's brand champion 3-way, but I expect him to retain over Mark Henry.

8

Batista

Destroyed Santino on RAW, and I'd imagine he'll defeat JBL on Sunday. Then, at Cyber Sunday he can job in a title match for the 1000th time.

9

Beth Phoenix

Although it took some help from Maryse, Beth defeated Divas champion Michelle McCool on Smackdown's big show.

10

Rey Mysterio

Rey was on the winning team in Smackdown's 8-man, and I'd imagine will go over Kane at the PPV. Will he get a chance to slide into the title picture with a victory?

1

Triple H

Still the WWE Champion, the Game teamed up with rival Jeff Hardy to defeat THE Brian Kendrick and MVP in Smackdown's opener.

2

Santino Marella

Easily the most entertaining part of RAW, but can he stay funny until reaching the zenith of the Honk-o-meter? Also surprising to see him get a clean pin over Deuce.

3

Jeff Hardy

Riding a lot of momentum and heading towards his first one-on-one chance at the title since the Royal Rumble. Is it finally Jeff's time?

4

CM Punk

After looking like he was headed nowhere fast, CM Punk got a clean win over Cody Rhodes on RAW, and now has a new friend in Kofi Kingston. The inevitable feud with Orton will be great.

5

Carlito

Carlito gets his first big win in probably a year, as he and his brother Primo are the new WWE Tag Champs. The Colons may be a cornerstone of Smackdown going forward.

6

Chris Jericho

Simply put, the Jericho/HBK feud is the hottest act in the company right now. Can't wait till the ladder match. With Orton likely tied up with Punk and JBL stale, Jericho may be on top for awhile.

7

Shawn Michaels

Lost in RAW's main event, but man, this feud with Jericho sure is making for some great TV programming.

8

John Morrison

After defeating Cryme Tyme on RAW, the Tuesday Night Delight was forced to do battle with his own partner on ECW.

9

The Miz

Miz and Morrison were all over TV this week, besting Cryme Tyme on RAW, and then booked to face each other on ECW. Ricky Ortiz had the last laugh but they are such great heels.

10

R-Truth

Confronted Shelton Benjamin this week. US Title or not, the rest of '08 looks very bright for the super popular TNA transplant.

1

Chris Jericho

Made his first successful title defense against CM Punk in a Steel Cage in RAW's opener. A ladder match against HBK won't be as easy, but I think Jericho's chances look good.

2

Triple H

Defeated MVP on Smackdown, but got laid out by Kozlov at the end. Interested to see where this goes - perhaps a HHH/Jeff vs. Kozlov/Khali match pre-PPV?

3

Jeff Hardy

Defeated The Brian Kendrick (yes, THE Brian Kendrick) on Smackdown to get some momentum from No Mercy. Also, looks like he won't get in trouble for his airport incident.

4

R-Truth

A few weeks ago when I saw how over Truth was getting, I figured a US title victory would be in his future. Him going over Shelton on Smackdown just about proves it.

5

CM Punk

Came up on the losing end of RAW's cage match for the World title. Doesn't have a match for No Mercy and in danger of fading into obscurity on the star-packed RAW.

6

Evan Bourne

Got another guest spot on RAW this week, perhaps to set up another for this week. Bourne vs. Kane, perhaps? Also on ECW he went over John Morrison.

7

Shawn Michaels

Returned, with a ladder in tow. 'nuff said.

8

Vladimir Kozlov

Continued to rise through the ranks this week by taking out both Jeff Hardy and Triple H. Next week he's got the Great Khali, and I'm interested to see where this all goes.

9

Matt Hardy

Got a victory over Mike Knox on ECW on Sci-Fi.

10

Michelle McCool

The much-improved Michelle McCool successfully defended the Divas title, again, against Maryse. What's next?
