  • Does TNA have what it takes

    Posted on 4/13/08 4:44 AM

With lockdown approaching i was watching the origanal lockdown ppv from a 3 event set i bought a while ago and it made me ponder if TNA has what it takes to make a serious battle with the WWE.

When i compare TNA vs WWE to the monday night wars i see many similarities. WWE lost top billing talent to wcw but in exchange recieved under utilized talent. And through good storylines and development, regrew thier main event talent pool while WCW's was fizzling out to age.

TNA has a good crop of young stars that can carry the banner for years but it almost seems that some WWE stars wont hand the torch. E. young, AJ Styles, Samoa joe, petey williams, jay lethal, tomko, cage, LAX , sabin ,consequenses creed, kaz all have a long future still ahead of them and looking at some storylines shows the preperation and training for the future. in the words of terry funk, you have to get the next group ready for the business to continue.

the stiener/ lil petey pump angle is a good start. not to mention the push samoa joe is getting first with nash and now still with angle. look at the other matchups with youth vs experience, booker vs roode, e y & kaz vs black reign and rellik, motor city machineguns vs team 3d, and look at tomko, styles, storm, cage, and morgan mixing with sting, nash, team 3d at lockdown. this asks the question "who is better preparing for the future". I think the fued between youth and experience will work alot better than debut in squash matches against jobbers for months.

so, does TNA have what it takes in the long run?, i gotta say YES. assuming managment and writers dont drop the ball

  • return to fanction warfare

reading recent blogs and talking with friends about the horseman and evolution leaves me wondering if wrestling could use another run. with the nwo, 4 horsemen, DX, the nation of domination, corporation, the union, filthy animals, ravens flock and other leading wrestling into a new era, what could happen if they repackaged old crews again or new ones for that matter.

Four horsemen: with flair gone triple h would be the only fitting member to continue, with the help of shawn michaels, bautista, and a fourth. pete and i talked of a senario with malenko, anderson, and flair having a series of matches to determine the final member. my version ending with Hass vs matt hardy ending with hardy losing the match but getting the final spot anyway. i did say a series of matches not a tournament.

Cryme tyme: with ron killings now in the wwe i would like to see this trio. I liked the 3 live kru from TNA and i think he would be a great addition.

Rated RKO: there was a comment of kenny dykstra needing to be repackeged and this could work. evolution worked developing bautista and orton and i think this could do the same with dykstra, hawkins, and ryder. just being those "edge guys" like michaels put it isn't going to make a career.

with more than 571,000 votes on wwe.com it is still virtually a tie (cena 34.3%, hhh 33.9%, orton 31.7%). who do you think will win, why.( besides "he's cool")

personally i think its HHH. its been a while since he has gotten a huge push. he let hardy have the spotlight for a while, and now its his time(no pun intended)
