  • Random Things That TNA Should Do When They Get 2 Hours

    Posted on 2/3/07 10:18 PM

Put Kevin Nash in the Commentating Booth
-Pretty random, but it would get over pretty quick. He has that Bobby Heenan or JBL-feel to him when does commentate. All he really has to do is put people over and crack funny-ass jokes. A 3-man booth would, as a whole, give the show a better feel. Of course, you'd hear less of Don West's incoherent yelling and Mike Tenay coherent rambling. He should step away from the storylines or have a lesser part in them because the X Division truly has to shine with one more hour.

    Kurt Angle: Bi-Polar?
-Again, this is random, but it could work. You know how the entire IWC thinks that Angle is legit crazy and/or on drugs? They could do a worked shoot on this. He could be a serious, yet cool-headed face one second, but when things don't go his way, he can just go ape**** crazy on everyone. Fans, commentators, and the wrestlers would question his motives, as the character himself doesn't even know his next move. It could be akin to the Brian Pillman "Loose Cannon" character, but it would obviously be a bit less of a shoot. The show needs something out there and crazy to make people feel like they can't miss it.

    Mid-Card Title
-This idea has been brought up a lot recently and it needs to be done. They have at least 10-15 guys, with no real motivating force, as they're not in the World Title hunt or don't compete in the X Division. Styles, Rhino, Truth (especially him), Hoyt, Tomko, Harris, Storm, and Roode are just a few that could benefit from this. But I think it's needed to help get over one person in particular: Bobby Roode. All the hype, the wins here and there, his new manager, and the feud with Eric Young, and he has abosutely nothing to show for it. He needs a run like Christopher Daniels' first X Division title run. He'lll finally look legit, then he can go after the World Title.

Get Rid of the Dead Weight, Bring In New Faces
-It's obvious that they haven't done anything with Shark Boy, Norman Smiley, A1, and a few others, in ages. I say, drop 'em. The Naturals, too, as they've been buried completely. Chase Stevens is garbage as a singles wrestler. This frees up a few spots on the roster. They should pretty much everyone that isn't signed to a WSX contract from ROH (McGuiness, Whitmer, Albright, Lacey, Allison Danger, Richards, etc.) and search for guys in local indies.

    New Championship Belts
-TNA owns the rights to the NWA Tag and World Titles until 2012 (?). I'm not sure if it's just the name, the belts, or both. If they can, they should get some new belt designs. Those titles are so 1987, it's not even funny. I'm sure casual viewers think that Christian Cage is walking around with the Intercontinental Title right now. They need a big, shiny, pretty looking belt that makes everyone know that that is the belt. Make a new X Division title, while they're at it.

Week ending Mar 18, 2007
Rank Wrestler
1

Christian Cage

He single handedly crushed the hopes & dreams of ROHbots, Puroheads, TNA-holes, and just overall smarks worldwide. Best counter to a Rear Naked Choke ever.

2

Bobby Lashley

Finally, the writers have tapped into his potential, gimmick/character wise. All he has to do is bug-out his eyes and the crowd will pop. Apri1 1, 2007: The day they MADE Lashley.

3

Undertaker

Batista got PWNED. LOL. Happy St. Patty's day, Finlay!

4

John Cena

Meh. Being a double champion has to count for something, right?

5

Edge

Why does he even wrestle anymore? All he has to do talk people into wanting to pay to see his ass get kicked.

6

Kurt Angle

He's a funny guy. What can I say?

7

Kane

He doesn't like Indians and Persians.

8

Shawn Michaels

For once in my life, I actually want to him to bitch, moan, and politick to go over at a Mania........so he can lose it a month later.

9

Alex Shelley

He's of Latin descent now? Robbin' bodegas with 'Cide had to be a blast.

10

AJ Styles

His character development over the past few months has been astonishing. He'll be carrying the company again soon.
