WWE Raw's WrestleMania Card (Fantasy Booking)
Posted on 2/1/08 10:42 AM
In all likelyhood, we are on our way to seeing John Cena vs. Triple H for the WWE Championship for what would feel like the third year in a row. Michaels is great and all, but it was the same exact build that they are going to do with Triple H vs. Cena.
It also looks like Michaels vs. Flair is a possibility, along with another MiTB match (NO ROOF?!) and possibly Finlay vs. Vince McMahon.
Additional matches could be Mickie vs. Ashley, Jeff Hardy vs. JBL, and Maria vs. Beth Phoenix.
With all of that in mind, here is what I think they should do WITH THE RAW BRAND.
WRESTLEMANIA 24 (as told by JobDDT)
MAIN EVENT
WWE CHAMPIONSHIP and INTERCONTINENTAL CHAMPIONSHIP
John Cena(c) vs. Jeff Hardy
Follow me here.
WWE has the perfect opportunity to capitalize on the madness that was Hogan vs. Warrior, and the allusions are right there. John Cena is the Hulk Hogan of the "E" Generation, and Jeff Hardy bares striking resemblance to the Ultimate Warrior of the early 90s (painted, crazy, energetic and full of momentum).
So what better story to do than the one that made them massive amounts of money 15 years ago? I have no doubt it would be a very good match, and I honestly couldn't tell you what the outcome would be right now if I had to choose. That is what a WrestleMania main event should be.
Have Hardy surprise everyone and win the chamber, and have Cena cement his return with a title win against Randy Orton. The story practically writes itself.
LADDER MATCH
HORNSWOGGLE SUSPENDED 30 FEET IN THE AIR
Mr. McMahon vs. Finlay
If anyone can get a great brawl out of Vince McMahon at this point in his life, it is Finlay. They have been going at this for a long time, so why not blow it off at Mania? Put Hornswoggle in a harness, suspend him above the ring (NO ROOF?!), and have Vince and Finlay fight to climb up and take him down.
Reveal in the buildup to the match that McMahon wants to make Hornswoggle into the same evil, jaded son of a bitch that he is. If Vince wins, Hornswoggle must mold himself in Vince's image (dress in suits and be mean to people, fire them), and if Finlay wins then they can be back together at last.
Vince wins.
WOMEN'S CHAMPIONSHIP
2 OUT OF 3 FALLS
Candice Michelle vs. Beth Phoenix
Candice returns and wins a special "Divas Royal Rumble" at No Way Out, similar to how Cena returned. She was injured by Beth in the 2 out of 3 falls match on Raw months ago, and now she is back and wants her title. Beth reminds her that she became a lawn dart the last time they wrestled, but Candice is determined.
TUDEXO/EVENING GOWN COMBO MATCH
Santino Marella and CRAZY HEEL MICKIE JAMES vs. Ron Simmons and Maria
Ron Simmons, who will convince Maria to accept Playboy's offer in a debate with Santino by saying "DAMN!," will team with Maria to take on Santino Marella and Crazy Mickie, who is jealous of Maria. The only way to win is to strip your opponents down to bra and panties or underwarez.
Simmons and Maria win, and in the end Simmons rips off Maria's clothes to make the audience happy and says "DAMN!"
AAAAAAND SCENE!
John Bradshaw Layfield (Jabble) vs. Umaga
Umaga, who had a deal with JBL going into No Way Out, is screwed out of the chamber match by JBL after dominating it in the early goings. Umaga goes on an absolute rampage and JBL somehow keeps running away and escaping Umaga's wrath, until Regal puts Umaga and JBL in the same match at WrestleMania to please the monster and to stop him from destroying everyone.
RIC FLAIR'S CAREER IS ON THE LINE IF ANYONE ON TEAM FLAIR IS PINNED
Shawn Michaels, Triple H and Ric Flair vs. Mr. Kennedy, MVP and... heel Chris Jericho
Kennedy loses at No Way Out and he and MVP enlist the help of someone who has "seen the light," Chris Jericho. Jericho says he realizes that he was blind in trying to "Save Us" from the wrong people, and now he will save us from D-X, which are awful. Flair saves D-X and Vince puts Flair's career on the line in this match.
