On ECW this week (taped early because of an international tour) he went by the name Evan Bourne.

Why? Who knows. Are we expected to forget he had a different name the week before, or will there be any attampt to explain it?

Hopefully they do something with this guy. Even though his match with Shelton was mainly a squash the moves he did use was impressive. If the cruiserweight title was still here he would be a good addition, but he can have a fued with someone like Matt Hardy.

I saw on another board, Evan "Air" Bourne. Pretty cool idea.
It doesn't really matter either way because it's not like Sydal has had much of a character before. Just happy to see him on TV. He was pretty awesome this past week.

I think Sydal is his real name, in which case he changed it so that WWE could have something to trademark. Harry Smith did the same thing, they couldn't have him wrestle as Harry because they wanted to make sure that if he ever got big and left he would have to use a name other than the one he made a name for himself with.
If Wikipedia is wrong about Sydal being his real name, which they very well might be, he probably changed it in order to make sure he wasn't going to find himself in the same boat as the Dudleys. Frankly, I think this is one of WWE's stupidest policies (trademarking ring names).

That would make sense actually, and the 'Air' nickname does make it sound better.
Still, it just seems stupid him going by his real name last week now.
