  • Wrestling Weekend Wrap-Up 1/10-1/12!

    Posted on 1/13/08 3:38 AM

Alot went down this past weekend, BIGGEST OF ALL..the apparent return of The Big Show to WWE. A rare Boston ROH show topping Edison, NJ's show...alot of controversy of the booking of the FIP Title matches. Also Chris Harris' status confirmed and more!

Well, to start off it was confirmed this weekend that Chris Harris has come to terms to terminate his contract with TNA. Thus confirming reports that he was signed with WWE, the deal reportedly includes a clause that has him bypass developmental. This could become a mistake as Harris does need some work in certain areas. It was also reported that WWE has re-signed Ron Killings to a contract. This I think WILL be a mistake. Killings didn't get over the first time and I dont think he will this time.

On Sunday word went around that former multi-time World Champion The Big Show has resigned with the WWE after a brief affair with boxing and a small wrestling tour with Hulk Hogan fell apart. According to the Wrestling Observer Show's down to about 440lbs. This is great for him as I've also felt he was the best big man ever in wrestling. When his weight balloned his talent seemed to go down. But if he can stay in shape he'll be great to watch.

PS...I placed Big Show in my #1 spot of wrestling big men based on the following:
-He had more athleticism than anyone his size...7 feet+
-He could make smaller guys look better than say Giant Gonzalez or Andre the Giant(even though thats a close one)
-And he was just damn more entertaining.

The ROH Show Friday night in Boston was great. The new building was great. The Austin Aries vs. Erick Stevens was outstanding. But I guess the finish was the same Saturday night in Edison. From what I hear the whole Edison show was lack-luster. But if they're trying to get Erick Stevens to be the next main-eventer(which I like, I like Erick Stevens solo), they can't have the same result with a different opponent. Double CO/restart the first night is cool. But to do it again the VERY NEXT NIGHT is just silly.

Because of the ROH i wasn't able to see Smackdown! So I'll give my best thoughts via Internet results. Seemed to be your average Smackdown! Only shocking thing is the Handicap match between Striker/Henry and the Undertaker only took 2:25? We as fans are supposed to believe that Mark Henry's an unstoppable monster. But it only took the Undertaker 2 and a half minutes to beat him AND Matt Striker? Then he beats a sneak attack from Henry and BDV? Some monsters.

    UPCOMING PAY-PER-VIEWS
    ROH: UNDENIABLE ON JAN. 18TH
WWE: ROYAL RUMBLE ON JAN. 27TH

  • Ok NOW Im pissed!

Alright I was having a GREAT weekend when it came to wrestling/sports. Friday I went to a sub-par ROH show. Speaking of which when the Hangmen 3 came out I had a few words with BJ Whitmer. I said, "You're the man BJ! You look like Kennedy but thats ok." He replied, "I dont look like Kennedy" then during his match I got a Kennedy chant of sorts going. But anyway. It was a good show. Then Saturday at the ROH PPV Nigel McGuiness became World Champion.

But tonight, not only did HHH lose the WWE title to Orton after two matches, but there was no Jericho return. This would've been the perfect time. But nooooo. Oh well. We know its gonna happen the crowd at No Mercy knew it. WE ALL KNOW IT.

After Friday nights ROH show in Boston I got to shake and have a brief word with Nigel McGuiness. Itold him it was a shame he's never been World Champion. He replied, "THERE'S ALWAYS TOMORROW NIGHT". Well earlier tonight read the results from Saturdays PPV taping and IT FINALLY HAPPEND!!! Nigel McGuiness became ROH World Champion!!!

  • MY CHANCE ENCOUNTER WITH THE CHAMP

    Posted on 9/8/07 12:48 AM

On August 25th a few of my friends and I traveled from Boston to New York's Manhattan Center to see ROH. Great show as always. Afterwards we went and got something to eat at the Tic-Toc Diner, which is down the street from the Manhattan Center. As we're halfway through our meals in walks non-other than Eddie Edwards, NOAH Executives and the Ring of Honor World Champion Takeshi Morishima. So we walked over told them what a great show it was and thanked them for doing what they do. It was pretty awesome.

By the way later on Kevin Steen came in with his pregnant girlfriend/wife. He didnt really thank us the same way Eddie and Morishima did. He kinda brushed us off. But he was still cool.

Cant wait til we go back for Final Battle
