If WWE goes TOO Hollywood
Posted on 8/15/08 9:58 AM by Sav3usJ1m1B
With the recent acquisition of Freddie Prinze jr. as a WWE writer simply so Mcmahon can open more doors for the company in Hollywood I'm worried about what other ideas McMahon may have to get his superstars more acting roles.
One major concern is what if he starts getting Actors to wrestle rather than his wrestlers acting?
The K-Fed thing was brilliant. K-Fed at the time was so hated by the media. Why? I don't know. K-fed is the man. He knocked up spears, ruined her life, knocked her up again, divorced her, then she shaved her head and has been ridiculed since. People hated his ass so Vince has him go one-on-one with (at the time) the most beloved WWE superstar John Cena.
Then there was the Donald Trump thing.
WCW's David Arquette run was lame. That's what I'm worried about happening. I know WWE is going to pull some people from hollywood and throw them on tv. Small appearances like when Rob Schneider judged a diva search event was ok whatever. But let's say they start actually putting these guys in matches? or even worse they have title runs? It could be good and it could be bad. Depends who you got doing what. Who would you like to see?
I'd like to see:
Ice Cube briefly running in a stable with Cryme Tyme.
Seth Rogen vs. Umaga.
Let's give Christian Bale a run with Intercontinental championship!
"Duane Johnson" vs. Santino.
Brief Smackdown GM Stephen Colbert.
Kal Penn as Khali's new translator. With Penn having no fucking clue what Khali is saying.
Batista vs. The cast of highschool Musical...
just a few ideas. -
Best In The Clutch
Posted on 8/14/08 4:05 PM by SnoHo24
With The Undertaker returning at Summerslam, it will mark the return of one of the greatest (arguably THE greatest) wrestlers in the history of the sport. Taker is an ever present threat to all who step into the ring, and wins matches when they count (if outside interference doesn't come into play).
This said, plus the 16-0 Wrestlemania streak, and wins over every single major wrestler the business has seen since 1990, it is safe to say Undertaker is one of the most clutch wrestlers ever. But is he the BEST in the clutch?
There are so many other clutch wrestlers out there who could be relied on in major matches: Goldberg, Stone Cold, Hogan (in the 80's), Flair (in the 80's), Andre, John Cena (during that long title reign a year or two ago), and many others.
Who is the greatest clutch superstar the business have ever seen? -

Time to Realign.
Posted on 8/14/08 2:30 PM by theminister
It seems to me that one of the problems in the WWE is that they are spread to thin in some areas and too thick in others. Right now we have TWO tag titles but only about 2 or 3 legitimate tag teams. We have TWO women's titles and only about 10 women wrestlers. We have a ton of cruiserweights but nothing for them to do except job. My idea would be for a realignment.
First off, UNIFY the two tag titles to ONE Tag Title and put that title on Smackdown. Then let the legitimate tag teams (Ryder/Hawkins, Rhodes/Dibiase, Miz/Morrison) and some newly made teams (for example: Burchill/Regal or Umaga/Khali or Kennedy/MVP etc.) go at it for the title.
Secondly UNIFY the 2 women's titles to ONE Diva's Title and put that title on RAW. Let the 6 or 7 legit women wrestlers (Mickie, Victoria, Natalya, Melina, Beth, Jilian, Katie Lea) go at it for the gold. Let the eye candy be valets or managers.
Lastly, RECREATE the Cruiserwight Title and put that title on ECW. With guys like Bourne, Chavo, London, Noble, Kendrick, Mysterio, Delaney, Yang etc. you could have a competitive CW division that would give those guys something to shoot for. I mean does anyone really see any of those guys I mentioned winning a World, US or IC title anytime soon? Put in a cruiserweight title and let them go at.
I think this would bring more order and competitiveness to those divisions. It would also make those titles MEAN SOMETHING.
What's your take?
