Edge or Randy Orton: Who is the better heel?
Posted on 6/17/08 2:19 PM
Edge and Randy Orton two of the WWE's top heels. Randy Orton is Raw's top heel and Edge is Smackdown's top heel, but which heel is better? I'm going to examine how effective these heels are, how much heat they have, and how good they play their roles as a heel.
Who makes the bigger impact as a heel Edge or Randy Orton?
I have to go with Randy Orton. Over the past couple of months Orton has really stepped his game up as a heel. Last year Orton took out Shawn Michaels, Rob Van Dam, and Dusty Rhodes adding to the list of the legends that he has killed. Orton also gained the WWE title at No Mercy beating Triple H. Edge didn't quite have as much of an impact as Orton until he started the storyline with Vickie. Edge cashed in his money in the bank briefcase for the second time and became a World Heavyweight Champion for the first time. It really didn't have as much of an impact as it did when Edge cashed in the first time mainly because Taker was injured and everyone knew that Edge was going to become World Heavyweight Champion. Edge was also injured doing the summer therefore had to reliquish his title. However Edge did make a huge impact when he returned at Survivor Series by screwing the Undertaker out of the World Heavyweight Championship. He also made a huge impact at Armageddon by outsmarting both Batista and The Undertaker by using Edge clones to regain the World title. The thing that affected his impact was the constant interfering by his lackeys and the help of his slutty girlfriend (no disrespect to the real Vickie Guerrero just the character she plays). Then again if he didn't do that then he wouldn't be the Ultimate Opportunist.
Who gets more heat Edge or Randy Orton?
Again I have to go with Randy Orton because he's done evil things to make the fans really hate him. He kicked Cena's father in the head (even though I laughed hard when I saw that. I'm so going to hell for laughing). He injured both Shawn Michaels and Matt Hardy. At No Way Out he did the cowardly thing and got disqualified by slapping the referee (once again I laughed at this I thought it was funny the way he did it) therefore he retained his title. As for Edge he really hasn't done anything to be really hated mainly because his finace Vickie Guerrero is doing all the work except wrestling. I don't even hate Edge that much anymore.
Who plays their roles better as a heel Edge or Randy Orton?
I have to give this one to both Edge and Randy Orton. Both play their roles as a heel very well. Randy Orton plays the cold-hearted heel to perfection and Edge plays the Ultimate Opportunist role very well also. Orton has done things in the past year that made him the cold-heart and dominant heel. Injuring Shawn Michaels and Matt Hardy (or reinjuring). Ending the career of Rob Van Dam. Killing the legend of Dusty Rhodes in his own match. Outsmarting Triple H to regain the WWE title. Outsmarting Triple H again and John Cena to retain his WWE title at Wrestlemania. I hear alot of my friends and other people complain that Edge doesn't win his matches clean or fair. I tell them Edge is the Ultimate Opportunist that's what he's suppose to do. Edge's role as a heel is very different from Randy Orton's. Edge role is to play the Ulitmate Opportunist. Meaning that he wins his matches by any means necessary. Edge winning his title by someone interfering or with dirty tactics is his role as heel and he plays it very well. The thing that's hurting Edge is Vickie. Vickie is outheeling Edge right now and that's not good. Edge needs to drop Vickie.
If I had to choose who is the better heel I would say Edge. Mainly because he does unexcepted things and is always interesting to watch. -
How to fix the WWE
Posted on 6/11/08 2:43 PM
I can't believe i'm even writing this, but the problems in the WWE have become big and it needs to be addressed. Obviously over the past couple of years alot of things have changed about the WWE. This year the WWE has been on a low ever since John Cena returned at the Royal Rumble. I not saying that the problems with the WWE is John Cena's fault because their not, but the problems that I have with the WWE needs to be FIXED. So here are my problems with the WWE:
1) Too Many Big Wrestlers- A problem that has been growning over the last couple of years. It seems that Vince doesn't hire wrestlers based on wrestling alone anymore. Now I think he hires on size. If you're a big guy in the WWE you're most likely going to receive a push no matter if you can wrestle or not. Mark Henry, The Great Khali, Big Daddy V, Batista, Koslov, Umaga, Snitsky, The Big Show, Kane, The Undertaker, and Festus. Those are the big guys of the WWE which is too much. The only people that can actually wrestle from that list is Kane, Big Show, The Undertaker, Batista, Festus and Umaga. Wrsetlers like Khali and Mark Henry can't put on a great match no matter how hard they try because they suck. Everyone knows that Khali can't wrestle yet he became World Heavyweight Champion. I think even Vince knows that he can't wrestle yet his obsession with big guys took over. I'm sick and tired of guys like these in the WWE and they need to go. It's sad to see wrestlers like Jamie Noble or Jimmy Wang Yang being put in squash matches because the WWE has found them useless. One thing about TNA is that their roster doesn't contain more than two or three big wrestlers because they actually use people who can wrestle.
2) Fresh Storylines and Fresh Rivalries are needed- Another problem with the WWE is their title picture. Only a couple people in Vince's mind qualify as main event worthy. Batista, Edge, The Undertaker, Triple H, Randy Orton and John Cena are the guys Vince likes to push. I'm really getting sick and tired of these people in the main event. I think last time none of these people weren't in a WWE title match or World title match was about 2 years ago. That's ridiculious. This past year the WWE title picture has not had a match that does not involve either John Cena, Randy Orton and Triple H. Last year we had John Cena as the WWE champion for nearly the whole year. I want new challengers in the WWE title and World title picture because i'm sick and tired of seeing the same people being in the main event.
3) Stop Giving Main Eventers Mid-Card Titles- This problem really is for the Intercontinental title. The U.S title has the right guys in the mid-card title picture right now. Guys like Jeff Hardy and Chris Jericho do not need the Intercontinental title. Jericho is a former 8 time Intercontinental champion. The guy doesn't need that title anymore he should be in the main event spot fighting for the WWE title. Guys like Charlie Haas or Paul Burchill should be fighting for that title. They may see Jericho's eight intercontinental title reigns as a good thing, but the way I see it there basically saying that Jericho isn't good enough anymore to be in the main event so we're giving him the IC title instead.
4) Surprise us. Do something unexpected- Do something unexpected like give Shelton Benjamin a World title shot and have him win it. Even if its just for a week that would be a refreshing change instead doing predictable things like John Cena overcoming the odds and holding the WWE title for over a year making him look like superman. These days the WWE is too predictable with or without the internet. Change can be good. Doing something like giving Benjamin a World title or giving Jamie Noble a push for the U.S title would make people watch more.
5) Pay Attention to your Tag Team Division- The WWE's tag team division seriously sucks right now. Not because there aren't any good tag teams mainly because the WWE has stopped caring about their tag team division. Merge both Tag Titles. I see no need for having two tag team titles. This can make more tag team rivalries like Paul London & Brian Kendrick vs. John Morrison & The Miz. If not merging the titles then care more about the tag team division. It's been months since we have seen the World Tag Team titles defended on a pay-per-view and years since both tag titles have been defended at Wrestlemania.
6) Stop Adjusting to Just One Style- Guys like CM Punk and Rob Van Dam had to change their styles because the WWE didn't like their original style. Having different styles can make wrestling more interesting and more fun to watch. Having every wrestler with a same style can make wrestling boring. I liked RVD's and CM Punk's original style so why change it?
7) Give Different Wrestlers A Chance- Try to push everyone on your roster. Pushing different guys or girls will make the title picture more interesting and not too predictable. Everyone should get some kind of push. Even though the cruiserweight title is gone push your cruiserweights for a U.S or Intercontinental title shot. They deserve it.
8) Listen To Your Fans- Listening to your fans can help improve the WWE. The fans are the reason why the WWE is so popular so why not listen to them. Satisfying the fans should be your #1 priority. Giving away money isn't going to help people watch wrestling. People watch wrestling to see people wrestle. If people wanted money giveaways then they can go on a game show or play the lottery. Wrestling should always come first.
Well as you can see I have alot of problems with the WWE right now. If at least some problems aren't addressed soon the WWE might lose a loyal fan. TNA right now is the best wrestling company on T.V to watch right now so I hope that the WWE improves over the next couple of months. -

WWE vs. UFC at Wrestlemania ?
Posted on 6/8/08 12:03 AM
In the world of wrestling anything can happen. Same thing can be said about mixed martial arts. Now I'm a huge fan of UFC and a even more of a huge fan of the WWE. I thought of this idea wouldn't it be cool if any WWE wrestler faced any UFC fighter? I think it would. Nothing scripted and fake either. A real fight. There's alot of guys in the WWE I would love to see get their ass kicked. Not only that, but if this ever did happen it can help UFC alot. It would attract more people into watching UFC. It would be interesting to see how the wrestlers could fight without anything being scripted or being faked. Of course the UFC fighters would win because they having been fighting for about their entire lives. Here's the fighters and wrestlers I would like to see face one another:
UFC Fighter- Chuck "Iceman" Liddel vs. John Cena
I would love nothing more than to see John Cena get his ass beat by one of the best which is Chuck Liddel. Liddel outshines Cena in about everything especially in wrestling.
UFC Fighter- Jeremy Horn vs. Triple H
Jeremy Horn is a good striker and grappler so him facing "The Celebral Assasin" Triple H would be a interesting fight.
UFC Fighter- Brock Lesnar vs. Vince McMahon
A fight that will never happen, but I wish would. We all know that Vince would get his ass kicked. Who else to do it than his former employer Brock Lesnar.
UFC Fighter- Quinton "Rampage" Jackson vs. "The Jackass" MVP
Quinton Jackson facing the asshole of the WWE MVP. Like John Cena I would love to see MVP get his ass kicked.
Interesting idea isn't it? What do you think would you like a UFC fighter to face a WWE wrestler at Wrestlemania?

What went wrong?
Posted on 6/6/08 1:53 PM
Don't you hate it when a match gets a good build and gets alot of hype yet when the actual match happens it just sucks. I know I do. In this blog I'm going to try to fix out what went wrong with one of the most hyped matches yet one of the worst i've seen. I'm talking about Goldberg vs. Brock Lesnar.
What they did right:
The build to this match was pretty good. Brock Lesnar screwed Goldberg in the Royal Rumble match. At No Way Out Goldberg helped Eddie out a bit by spearing Brock. The weeks up to Wrestlemania they made the match seem like it was going to get out of control. That's why Stone Cold Steve Austin was made the special guest referee of the match. The hype towards this match wasn't huge, but it did get a pretty big hype.
What they did wrong:
Basically what they did wrong was the match. The match was just basically about Lesnar trying to be better than Goldberg or in vice versa. There really wasn't wrestling involved at all. A couple of moves here and there, but only a few. The other moves were just tests of strength. I didn't understand that. Both guys could clearly wrestle (yes I said Goldberg can wrestle). This match should have been made into a brawl type of match. The thing is this was both Lesnar's and Goldberg's last match and unfortunely they didn't go out on a good note. Austin pretty much seemed useless in this match.
How the match could have went:
This match could have went in a totally different direction. Like I said this match could have been a brawl type of match. This should have went somewhat out of control. They could have added some wrestling, but a brawl type of match seems more suited for these two. The match shouldn't have been about Lesnar trying to be better than Goldberg or about who's stronger.
Could this match have been a classic?
Honestly no. Usually when big guy matches like this happens theirs really nothing epic or classic about the encounter. However this match had a good potential to be a good match, but however wrote this match decided to screw it up.
