Imaginary Wrestling
Posted on 3/2/08 1:01 PM
When I was really young my cousin was a part of the IWA, which is an imaginary wrestling league. I wanted to join, but I found that he had been spending around $50 on it. Naturally, I didn't have that kind of money.
Ever since then I'd been trying to find an imaginary league to join, but without spending a lot of money. Now I've become aware of some free imaginary wrestling leagues online. My question is this: can you refer me to any good imaginary leagues?
I've recently joined a site called "The Wrestling Game" (very creative name, i know..) And I find it to be a lot of fun. It's very Warcraft-like. You create a wrestler and build his stats as you gain EXP Points.
Is anybody else here a member of an imaginary or a fantasy wrestling league that they believe is the best of all? I wouldn't want to become consumed in this game, only to find that there is a better game out there. Putting all this time into a game would really piss me off, if I just end up quiting for another one. -
I feel bad for CM Punk
Posted on 2/19/08 10:24 PM
At No Way Out we all saw Punk immitate the late Eddie Guerrero, by using his taunt and giving the Three Amigos. It appeared to me that there was a possible heel-turn coming as it seemed like he was mocking Eddie.
Now that I think about, I'm pretty sure he wasn't ridiculing anybody. I think that he had planned on receiving a pop for that. He thought he was paying tribute. Yet his was met with overwhelming boos. This really makes me feel bad for Punk. How would you feel if you were trying to pay tribute to your fallen hero only to find out that it was interpreted as disrespect.
I don't know why, but when I think about what happened it just makes me think "poor CM Punk." There's no worse feeling then when you try to do something nice, but it actually hurts instead of helps. -
Triple H is undeserving
Posted on 2/18/08 6:53 PM
This blog is an obvious testimonial against Triple H. Now I've been a big fan of his for years, but I've got a lot of problems with him as of late.
This is not a discussion about John Cena, so even though most likely he will be worked in to make it a triple threat match, this is not an argument of whether or not he deserves to be in the main event at Mania. It's an argument of whether or not Triple H deserves it.
So lets look at the facts. First of all, Triple H was not on RAW the last two weeks. Never, and I mean never does a wrestler deserve to win a pay per view main event after missing two weeks worth of TV time unless it was because of an angle. But this was no angle, it was just Triple H being nowhere to be seen. If you think Trip does deserve it, let's compare him to his opponents. Umaga is clearly not Wrestlemania main event material. Jericho and JBL are clearly going to work their feud through Wrestlemania. But that leaves HBK and Jeff Hardy.
Shawn Michaels hasn't taken any leave since his 4 year break between 98 and 2002. Since that time he has done nothing but great work. He's had some of the best matches I've ever seen, and yet he's not being given the world title. You could say he's past the point of needing to hold a title to boost his confidence, but that argument holds more meaning against Triple H. Micheals has only held the world title once in the past ten years. That's ludicrous because he's been one of the top performers during this entire time. And another thing is that Michaels has never really had a huge confrontation with Orton. A short feud I believe, but if they battle at Mania, that could be the best match since HBK/Angle.
As for Jeff Hardy, he still hasn't ever held the big prize despite being the most popular wrestler of his generation. He's more over with the fans than anyone I can remember, and he was being pushed just right to get that win at No Way Out. He beat Michaels clean, and could be getting his second chance at Orton (perfect storyline). You can say Hardy's a "spot monkey," but big spots are needed to make wrestling what it is. Plus, if you think Jeff can only perform in a ladder or a cage match, that's what they could do. Jeff already fought Orton in a normal match, so they could add a stipulation this time, thus granting your wishes.
I can go on and on about why Hardy and Michaels are worthy, but the point is Trip is not. If he's in line for a Mania main event, then he should be working as hard and as readily as HBK and Hardy. He hasn't had anything I could call a 'classic match' since he feuded with The Rock and Foley, and he just doesn't cut it as a babyface. He needs to turn heel and really kick ass if he wants to fight for the title, cause this is just a travesty of justice.

No Way Out Results/ Wrestlemania Predictions
Posted on 2/17/08 11:22 PM
I predicted Flair to win. (odds= 9:1)... 1 for 1
I predicted Chavo winning. (odds= 3:1)... 2 for 2
Undertaker will win. (Undertaker= 70: Batista= 10: MVP= 8: Finlay= 6: Khali= 4: Daddy V= 2)... 3 for 3
Triple H will win. (odds are Triple H= 35: Hardy= 25: HBK= 20: Jericho= 10: JBL= 6: Umaga= 4)... 4 for 4
Edge winning (odds= 9:1)... 5 for 5
WWE Title
Cena winning (odds= 5:1)... 5 for 6... so close.
Any way, I thought this ppv was great compared to the Rumble. Chavo winning cleanly = great. (and is he turning face? cause Punk was mocking Eddie.) The finish of the Smackdown chamber was a great end to a decent match, and the Triple H win was a decent end to a great match... Ultimately, Cena didn't win the title, so all in all it's a good show.
I liked the Big Show angle. I think they'll have a boxing match at Mania. I think Chavo will defend his title against Shelton in a great match at Mania. Vince v. Finlay, Jeff Hardy winning the MITB, MVP v. Matt (US Title), HBK def. Flair, Jericho def. JBL, Taker def. Edge, Trip def. Orton & Cena... oh and something involving Maria & Ashley; maybe a handicap match against Marella?

Curry Man *spoiler warning-Curry Man's identity*
Posted on 2/14/08 9:30 PM
You may or may not be aware but Curry Man is actually Chris Daniels... now do you guys think eventually he's going to unmask and get a push, or do you think he's gonna remain masked for a while and vask in mediocrety as Curry Man without any real story lines?
Personally I think Daniels deserves a big push. He's been with the TNA forever and he deserves to be one of their top guys every bit as much as Styles or Joe.
