WELCOME TO MONDAY NIT-RAW!!!
by JamesP on 4/28/08 11:33 PM
That was the worst Raw ending I've EVER seen. Vince Russo must be pissed that he didn't think of this first. Does Vince not realize that 17,000 people KNOW the finish and with a little thing called the internet, it will leak out? Ugh, and even worse was the logic. If William Regal is mad at being booed, why does he screw over THE TV AUDIENCE?! And it's not like the match will continue until next week. It's a live show, they can't end in the middle of a match and say, "Who will win? Stay tuned to see the conclusion of this match on the next exciting episode of Monday Night Raw!*cue Dragon Ball Z theme*" And it was a good Raw up until that ending. This reminds me of the stupid shit WCW did in its dying years.

I read the results and it gets even better: Regal stops the match, and Randy leaves, perfectly content with getting fucked out of a potential title win, while HHH is acting like he was screwed over and pissed off at getting a free successful title defense. How backwards is that?
From jeff on 4/28/08 11:52 PM
After RAW went off the air Regal came down during the match and stopped it. So the crowd also didn't get to see the ending of that match. To think I was just about to give RAW credit for having a good match. I would have rather seen Triple H get screwed out of the title then that crappy ending. I was disappointed in RAW. Hopefully Smackdown will deliver another great show.
From theminister on 4/28/08 11:58 PM
I agree. That ending was horrible. I thought the same thing why screw the TV fans when the live crowd booed him? It was a bad piece of TV.
Overall it was a forgetable show. Murdoch's song was the low lite until the ending.
I liked Kennedy's return apparently as a face.
BTW it looked like HBK limping on the wrong leg? He hurt his right leg at Backlash and was limping on RAW like his left leg was hurt.
From Petedaddydolla on 4/29/08 7:16 AM
" I guess I was wrong, I just don't belong. But then, I've been there before, every things alright. I'll just say goodnight and I'll show myself to the do-or. Hey I didn't mean to cause a big scene. Just give me an hour and then....I'll be as high as that Ivory Tower, that your livin' in......". The grammy goes to Trevor Murdoch!
Yeah Raw was good with the exception of The Burchill's vs. Super Crazy and the very ending. Did anyone else notice that when Kennedy and Regal were going at it how stiff the shot that Regal gave Kennedy was? It actually looked like they were legitimately pissed at each other. That should be a good feud to help propel KENNEDY back to the top as a face and it doesn't hurt that Regal is a great technical veteran as well.

i had to leave for work at like 10 15 so i didnt get to see then end but i thought murdoch singin friends in low places was funny bu he shouldnt dragged it on that long and how he got applause afterward and i saw that they finally gave rhodes a mic and he wasnt that bad Kennedy+face turn=main eventer

I liked the ending of RAW, I thought it was very different, and something that doesn't come by very often anymore is something that's never been done. I definitely did the job of making Regal become more hated.... The thing I would have liked better is if the match continued after RAW went off and Orton won the title. Nobody would expect the title to change off the air, and a lot of people would waite an entire week to find out Trip lost the belt.
> And I like that Trip adopted the crossface. It makes sence cause that's the move that he's tapped out to so many times.
I don't know what the deal with Murdoch was.... The weirdest part of that was that nobody reacted strangely. The announcers didn't even say anything about it, they just went about with business.
From JamesP on 4/29/08 3:48 PM
Just because it's different doesn't make it good. It's like if the public is growing stale with an artist's painting, he takes a shit on a canvas and says "Look you guys! It's different, like it!" That's the problem with WWE these days: when they do something different, they do the thing that nobody thought about due to not wanting it at all.
From cptcharisma1157 on 4/29/08 5:02 PM
its not only good cuz its different, im just saying it was a unique surprise.... it definitely accomplished what they hoped for, Regal pissed a lot of people (including you) off.
From JamesP on 4/29/08 6:36 PM
Huh? I'm legitimately pissed off at WWE for doing something stupid and straight out of WCW, not William Regal. They just used his character to do a stupid ass booking decision and in no way does that make me hate Regal. The heat is directed at WWE for sucking.
From cptcharisma1157 on 4/29/08 6:56 PM
that's what i mean, i know you realize it's a storyline, and that it wasnt really regal's fault.... But there are a million people who sitting at home yelling "What the hell are you doing Regal!!" I think its a good way to push regal as a really irritating heel.
From JamesP on 4/29/08 7:13 PM
But I was yelling, "What the fuck is WWE doing?!" I can't bring mysef to hate Regal because it's such a dumb storyline.
From damn123 on 4/29/08 7:45 PM
i think it was good to push regal as a heel but it sucked for the audience
From JamesP on 4/29/08 8:40 PM
It's a double-edged sword. It would've been so much mor effective had they had William Regal simply cancel the match and order that Raw immediately go off the air, rather than stop in the middle of a match. I mean, in this day and age with the internet, people can just find out what happened afterwards without having to wait until next week. What would've been awesome though, is if Regal stopped it right when the match began and ordered Raw to go off the air. Even thoughRaw would've ended 20 minutes early, BOY would people hate Regal for that. They wouldn't see it at all because Regal cancelled it. But as it stands, it's ridiculous to abrubtly stop things while the match is still hasn't reached a conclusion.
From fyrooz4125 on 4/29/08 10:22 PM
A very strange ending indeed. But it really makes me interested to see Raw next week.
From ROHjuggalo on 4/30/08 10:53 AM
It was better than the limo blowing up at the end.
From cptcharisma1157 on 4/30/08 1:54 PM
ill agree with JamesP that this storyline would have been much more effective before the internet.... think if we were sitting here not knowing what happened. it would be a week before we knew who the world champ is.. that would have been cool back then
From Treilond on 4/30/08 4:56 PM
I personally think the idea was smart, its good for the Regal character
From JamesP on 4/30/08 5:18 PM
I still don't think it would've gone well. I can understand ending in the middle of a brawl like how WWF used to do since those usually end with security breaking it up, but to end it in the middle of a match before it reaches its conclusion is dumb. What's worse is that WWE is actually HAPPY that people legitimately hated the ending and are mad at WWE for doing it in the first place, not Regal's character. Do they even care anymore? Oh, and Treilond, how's that Pedigree going?
From cptcharisma1157 on 4/30/08 5:59 PM
honestly the end of ecw made me A LOT more angry than the ending of raw... how can they expect us to watch an entire match with no announce team?!
