Turning Point Result and Reviews 12/2/07
by Petedaddydolla on 12/3/07 12:25 AM
This is gonna take a while so I will get right into it:
1)Tables Match: Team 3D & Johnny Devine vs Motor City Machine Guns & Black Machismo Jay Lethal. Let me break it to you like this, I don't like the angle they are taking with making the mighty Team 3D look like whimsical heels. No this is not the way the former ECW tag champs should look in my opinion. The table spots in the match were incredibly lame, the only bright spot of the match for me was Lethal putting Devine through the table with a cross-ring elbow drop. Result: Team 3D & Devine win by pulling the old switch-a-roo on the ref.
OUT OF 5 STARS: 0 outta 5
2)Roxie LeVeaux & O.D.B. vs Velvet Sky & Angelina Love: The match had funny spots, mostly centered around wedgies, yes that is correct. I just said wedgies; now with that said I will say this: ODB has a nice ass. The action was choppy, not a lot of fluidity to the contest which ended with an Angelina Love over Roxie LeVeaux pinfall. Love & Sky win a comedic match to say the least.
OUT OF 5 STARS: 1 outta 5
3)James Storm vs Showtime Eric Young: Young is a very under rated wrestler who gives his all every time he is in the ring. He and Storm put on a very good match with Young winning by pinfall.
OUT OF 5 STARS: 2 outta 5
4)FEAST OR FIRED MATCH: Senshi,Elix Skipper,Christopher Daniels,Sonjay Dutt,Shark Boy,Lance Hoyt,Jimmy Rave,Petey Williams,Chris Harris,BJ James,Kip James,Scott Steiner,Homicide & Hernendez: In theory having this many good wrestlers battling at once would be great but it is just too hard to watch all the action at once. Scott Steiner held court outside the ring until the end of the match when he came in to the ring. The high spot of the match for me was Petey Williams hitting an over the top rope hurracanranna on Christopher Daniels. The cases were retrieved in this order 1.Petey Williams 2)B.G. James 3)Senshi 4)Scott Steiner What is in these cases will be revealed on Impact this Thursday night.
OUT OT 5 STARS: 2 outta 5
5)TNA Knockout Championship Match, Champion Gail Kim vs. Awesome Kong: The two women battled outside of the ring for a full 4 minutes before the opening bell even rang, Gail Kim hit some awesome aerial spots during the contest(3 missle drop kicks and 1 senton splash)before Kong took control and got disqualified for striking the official. Kong then proceeded to powerbomb the ref, chokeslam Velvet Sky, punch Angelina Love in the face with a steel chair and awesome bomb Gail Kim on steel chair before she left the ring. Result: Gail Kim retains the title by disqualification.
OUT OF 5 STARS: 3 outta 5
6)Black Reign & Rellik vs Abyss & Raven in the 10,000 Tacks Match: Blood-bath style match, Abyss cutting Black Reign,Rellik putting tacks in Raven's mouth then punching him in it,Raven putting Black Reign through a table full of tacks off of the top turnbuckle. The best was the finisher; Abyss black-hole slamming Rellik on a ring full of tacks and scoring the 3 count. Result: Abyss & Raven win
OUT OF 5 STARS: 4 outta 5
7)Booker T & Kaz vs Christian Cage & Robert Roode
Booker T was great during the match, he and Cage can put people over and Booker did it tonight when he had to. Kaz had his usual high flying offense going on. Booker T and Kaz win the match.
OUT OF 5 STARS: 3 outta 5
8)Kurt Angle, A.J. Styles & Tomko vs. Kevin Nash, Samoa Joe & Eric Young: The match started off with Samoa Joe taking over the mic and going off about how the old talent is just there to pad their pensions. He admonished Hall for no-showing the event and said that he asked backstage who wanted to fight and enter Eric Young in his second match of the night. I can't say enough about the work ethic of both Joe and Eric, who both had a great match tonight. Joe had the crowd on his side and made the crowd pop. Nash was largely immobile throughout the match, Angle had him in an ankle lock at one point. Until Joe kicked his teeth out that is. Eric Young hit his finisher on Tomko for the win; he and Joe and Nash(who exited the match right after it was over)
OUT OF 5 STARS: 4 outta 5
Big Finish: I think this Pay Per View was good, the Samoa Joe rant at the beginning of the Main Event was great, someone needed to say those things and Joe had the balls to do it. Overall my rating was 3 outta 5 on the PPV.
Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did.

I liked this PPV, deffinatley wasn't their best, but it was pretty good. Loved Joe's shoot before the match, he spoke the truth, as for the match, it was good, especially if it was a last minute thing, props to Eric Young for two matches. My favorite match was Booker T and Kaz vs Cage and Roode, they busted their asses to put on a show. Getting back to Joe's rant, he pretty much said what the fans have been saying for a long time now, and I hope this ends up with the X Division getting the push and the time they deserve and Joe finally getting the Title. Overall I rate this as a 3 out of 5, good matches that were given a lot of time.

I have more respect for Samoa Joe for calling out the "superstars" for padding their pensions, but what did they expect from Scott Hall. He has made a career out of doing things his way. He just turned 50, they expect him to change now?

The problem is that he's still getting put in the main event. I think that's why Joe's hot at him right now, is because Hall just walks in, gets a PPV match for his first sanctioned match since, how long's it been since KOW?, in the main event nonetheless, and Joe jobs, works like no one else in the company, and gets the fans behind him full throttle, and still plays second fiddle to people like Hall and Nash.

Did you see how Nash and Joe were interacting at Impact on Thursday? They seemed to hopefully have buried the hatchet. They worked good together, I like the fake-out Nash pulled when he acted like he was going to go over the top rope. That was the funniest thing I have seen in a while out of Nash. I don't exactly know when Hall's last televised Main Event was, probably when WWE let him go. Last I checked he was still the WWC Heavyweight Champion. He was feuding with one of the Colon' boys (a relative of Carlito).
