Hello fellow wreslingmarks, it's SirWilliam here and I bring you the question most WWE fans are subconsiously pondering- is The Great American Bash worth purchasing?

It's no secret that today's payperview prices are through the roof. It's very hard for a working person to pay for every payperview that the WWE throws at you, so many are left to decide whether or not to buy the next payperview. So here comes The Great American Bash 08, an historic payperview that has been less then impressive since the WWE has taken over it's name. This year's line-up seems to be fairly loaded with five titles being defended and a NYC parking lot brawl. The only thing missing is a good IC or US title match which I think should have made the card. But this year's line-up on paper certainly looks better then year's past.

The WWE championship match of Triple H vs Edge should be an extremely good match. These ring veterans should have the right chemistry and be able to deliver a very solid main event with a fresh feel to it since the Undertaker or Batista is not matched up with Edge for once. The World Heavyweight championship match should also be a classic face vs face encounter and I personally think that CM Punk and Batista will pull off a good three or four star match-up. Now granted Batista isn't the best in ring worker but I see this one coming off very well. So all in all, both main events have a very fresh feel to them and I think with the talent in the ring they should be able to deliver.

The rest of the card is not to be overlooked either. In the higher mid-card you have Jericho taking on Michaels for the first one on one encounter since Jericho's newest heel turn. And you really can't expect much less then a great match from these guys. We have seen awesome matches in the past from these two and I expect the trend to continue at The GAB. I hope this great fued culminates in a specialty match at Summerslam; hopefully a ladder match. The rest of the card consists of Mark Henry vs Tommy Dreamer for the ECW championship, John Cena vs JBL in a NYC parking lot brawl, a tag team fatal four way for the WWE tag titles, and Michelle McCool vs Natalya for the new Diva's championship. I think all but maybe Mark Henry vs Dreamer will deliver. I'm just not sure if Henry can pull off a good match, and it's kinda obvious that he'll retain. The fatal four way tag team title bout should be exciting. John Cena vs JBL should have some hard-hitting spots, so I'm looking forward to it. I think Cena will show up all bandaged up and looking for vengeance after Monday night's actions by JBL. As for Michelle McCool vs Natalya- I hope to God Natalya wins it because I can't stand Michelle McCool. Natalya is also very talented and deserves the belt. The match should be a decent diva encounter.

So overall, I think The Great American Bash will be an extremely solid payperview. The matches seem to be anything but stale, even if JBL and Cena have had a number of matches these past months. We all know that the WWE has been on a hell of a roll since the draft and I don't expect their momentum to stop here. Every WWE fan should consider purchasing The Great American Bash.
