TNA finally pushing their own talent?
by JamesP on 5/13/08 4:58 PM
I've noticed this in the past few months. We've seen Kaz, Matt Morgan, James Storm, Robert Roode, and most importantly Samoa Joe all recieve big pushes, while Kurt Angle's started to take a back pedal, and the main purpose for Sting and Booker T is to help make new stars. It's about damn time. It's been said time and time again that TNA needs to create its own identity, and it looks like they're finally starting do so. While May wasn't that good of a month for TNA, it seems like TNA is starting to go in the right direction and stop all of this Russo BS. What they need to do now is improve the X Divison. Their Women's Division is the best in the country besies SHIMMER, bar none. And they're finally going in the righ direction with the man event. But with Vince Russo on the booking team, we better hope that he doesn't find a way to fuck shit up.

I agree. I said it a while back in a blog I wrote (http://www.wrestlingmarks.com/blogs/The_Failed_Plan_of_TNA/251) that TNA needs to do what the WWE has done for years, create their own stars. TNA needs to create stars of its own rather than wait for guys to become disgruntled with the WWE. Joe, Styles, Kaz, Morgan, Roode, Storm, Eric Young, LAX, MMG, Lethal, Petey Williams etc. should be the focus of their show and let guys like Angle, Booker, Sting etc. put those guys over. It's good to see that happening some. It was a long time coming.

Things are looking up for TNA. It looks like Jarrett is finally starting to bring TNA in a new direction and filter out Russo's crap. Hopefully, Kurt Angle's feud with AJ Styles will go the right way. And not only that, but the things that were really dragging the company down are disappearing. Curry Man and Shark Boy weren't even at the this week's tapings, while Black Reign and RelliK have been pushed down to Xplosion aka TNA HeAT. And hopefully they'll go back to Abyss being a monster, rather than putting him into a billion rehashes of Undertaker storylines.

I hope they unmask Curry man soon because I miss Christopher Daniels. I thought that Abyss was released. Hopefully he doesn't come back with a dumb gimmick. I'm glad that TNA is finally pushing their own talent as well. I was surprised that LAX won the tag titles, but I'm glad they did. I can't wait for their match against The Motor City Machine Guns this thursday that should be good. Their X Diviion is pretty good its just the matches they make with the X Division. A Kaz/Petey Williams match should be a good match. It was smart of TNA to add Kaz to the main event at Scarfice because a Joe/Steiner match would probably be bad even though those two can wrestle. I think TNA is starting to bring down the women's division. Roxxi getting shaved was not the right move. I don't understand why they couldn't let Love get the shave she isn't as good as Roxxi(even though she's hot). I think the WWE finally realized that they need to improve their diva matches because over the past month the diva matches have been pretty solid and the diva match at Judgment Day sounds pretty good to me. Now only if they can switch Natalya, Michelle McCool and Victoria on RAW that would be great. Anyways TNA is getting better, but they should still fire Russo.
From JamesP on 5/14/08 9:36 PM
I think that Roxxi getting shaved helps advance the storyline. The heat surrounding the shaving was INSANE. The crowd chanted "Fire Russo," but that was because they were pissed at the fact that their favorite, Roxxi, was getting humilated via a stipulation concocted by Russo. Roxxi has been getting embarassed by The Beautiful People for a few weeks now, and they've now screwed her over and caused her to suffer the ultimate embarassment and now Roxxi has an incentive for revenge.

I agree about Daniels. His "Fallen Angel" gimmick was so much better than Curry Man. I miss Daniels, he is such an incredible wrestler.
Abyss was just taking a break. Apparently we'll be seeing him soon. I too hope that he returns as a Monster Heel. He is best in that role.
I have been anxiously waiting for the Angle/Styles feud. I was afraid that it may get delayed by Angle's neck injury but the TNA spoilers seem to point to Slammiversary as the plac where we'll get the first taste.
By the way: Wrestleview has a story fro PWInsider that says Roxxi wanted to cut her hair anyway so she wasn't really upset about the head shaving. http://www.wrestleview.com/news2008/1210802115.shtml

Matt Morgan is from the WWE
From jeff on 5/14/08 11:16 PM
But Matt Morgan was never pushed in the WWE that's why its a good thing he's being pushed in TNA.
From JamesP on 5/15/08 3:10 AM
Yeah, when TNA pushes guys like Christian Cage, Tomko, an Matt Morgan, it's understandable. Those guys never recieved pushes in WWE. Now, guys like Kurt Angle, Booker T, and Sting should be used to help make new stars, not job them out.
From cptcharisma1157 on 5/15/08 11:17 PM
I always find it odd that WWE never pushed Matt Morgan. Vince loves giant wrestlers, and the only one with any talent (Morgan) never got a push, and then the huge guys like Khali and Batista with no talet get a trillion pushes.
From MikeyM331 on 5/16/08 3:45 AM
It's because Vince loves slow big men.
