  • Bill Goldberg

    Posted on 2/9/08 4:08 PM

Ok, I want some feedback on this one. Every time the name Goldberg comes up anymore, people verbally rip him to shreds. Why on earth would you insult Goldberg? He is part of the reason WWE is what it is today.

Goldberg pretty much made WCW what it was. He was a wrestling icon when he competed. The crowds loved him--the Goldberg chants were often so loud that the announcers couldn't be heard. In fact, only Flair's "WOOOOOO" chants have ever been louder in my personal opinion.

He was also one of the greatest competitors of all-time. He beat Hogan, Flair, The Rock, Austin, Lesnar, Big Show, Triple H, Angle, Bret Hart, Sting, Kevin Nash, Booker T, Scott Steiner, Sid Vicious, and everyone else who set foot in the ring with him. He was 176-0 before the nWo cheated to beat him.

This all leads up to one question: Why doesn't Goldberg get any credit for being one of the all-time greats? He's beaten them all, he's loved by wrestling fans worldwide, and yet he gets NO CREDIT.

    Why is that?

  • Greatest Accomplishment in Wrestling

    Posted on 2/3/08 3:41 PM

Out of all the feats wrestlers have accomplished over the years, which accomplishment is the greatest?

Some of those that stand out are:

    Undertaker: 15-0 at Wrestlemania

    Ric Flair: 16-time Champion

Bruno Sammartino: 7 year reign as Champion

"Fabulous" Moolah: Women's Champ from '50's to 80's

    Goldberg: 176-0 in WCW

Chris Benoit: Only wrestler to hold every major title (minus Cruiserweight and Women's)

Hulk Hogan: 1st person to pin Andre The Giant

The Dudleyz/Team 3D: Only Tag Team to hold every Tag title in wrestling

Big Show: Only wrestler to hold WCW, WWE, and ECW titles

    Edge: 11-time Tag Champ

There are many more records, but the question remains: which one stands tall above the rest?

  • What would be in YOUR ultimate Wrestlemania?

    Posted on 1/30/08 2:06 PM

If I had full power over who would face who for what title in a certain type of match, I would make it something to this extent: (All of these superstars would be featured in their prime)

WWE Title: The Rock vs. Hulk Hogan vs. Bill Goldberg Hell in a Cell

World Heavyweight Title: Undertaker vs. Stone Cold vs. Triple H vs. Shawn Michaels vs. Brock Lesnar vs. Ric Flair Elimination Chamber

ECW Title: Sabu vs. Mick Foley vs. Terry Funk Triple Threat Barbed Wire Match

Andre The Giant vs. Big Show Last Man Standing

Giant Gonzales vs. The Great Khali No DQ

MITB Match: RVD vs. Goldust vs. Bret Hart vs. British Bulldog vs. Roddy Piper vs. Eddie Guerrero vs. Chris Benoit vs. Randy Savage

The Hardy Boyz vs. Legion of Doom vs. The Dudley Boyz vs. nWo (Nash/Hall) Fatal 4-Way Elimination Tag Match

(WCW vs. WWF match) Scott Steiner/Sting/Booker T/Chris Jericho (WCW) vs. Kane/Edge/Kurt Angle/DDP (WWF)

What would YOUR ideal Wrestlemania be?

  • No Way Out Predictions

    Posted on 1/29/08 4:31 PM

The last PPV of the year before Wrestlemania 24 will be eventful, but its what will spawn from No Way Out that will make WM 24 a classic.

(For now, this is just for RAW--I will post another one after ECW and Smackdown, probably on Saturday)

-Flair will defeat Kennedy just like he did MVP. As a result, McMahon will put him up against someone like Big Daddy V or Big Show for Wrestlemania.

-With the Elimination Chamber, it will go down in this order: Hardy will fall first, followed by
JBL and Y2J. HHH and HBK will team up to eliminate Umaga. Then, there will be flashbacks to the 2002 Elimination Chamber as HHH and HBK go at it. HBK will miss Sweet Chin Music and HHH will Pedigree him and win the match.

-Orton will defeat Cena for the WWE Title. Cena will then challenge HHH to a #1 contenders match. Orton will interfere with the match, resulting in a Triple Threat Match between HHH, Cena, and Orton for the WWE title at Wrestlemania 24.

Feel free to fill in thoughts, comments, and predictions.

  • Vicki's "Family": The new NWO?

    Posted on 1/27/08 3:32 PM

I know, nWo would absolutley destroy this "family" that Vicki Guerrero has formed. But I find some similarities between the two factions.

-Both were/are run by the GM of the brand. Eric Bischoff was GM of WCW back in the day, and was head of the nWo as well. Vicki is GM of Smackdown and is pretty much the head of the "family".

-Both featured/feature the brand's top champion. Hogan was the WCW champion for most of his nWo phase (before Goldberg took it). Edge is the World Heavyweight Champion.

-Both had/have a "wild card" who you can't count out of any equation. The nWo had Kevin Nash. Vicki's "family" has Chavo (again, another Champion).

-Both had/have "cronies" who interfere in another member's matches. Scott Hall and/ or Big Show (or HBK, depending on the year), were the nWo's lackeys. Curt Hawkins and Zack Ryder are the cronies for Vicki's "Family".

-Both cheated/cheat to achieve what they want. Scott Hall/Nash took out Goldberg after a 176-0 run, then they cost him the title to Bret Hart. Hawkins and Ryder helped Edge to screw over Undertaker and Batista and steal the title. Bischoff set up matches that favored the nWo and protected them from most situations. Vicki sets up squash matches for her "family" and more challenging matches for people like Batista, Taker, and Mysterio.

Now, of course, the nWo is arguably the greatest faction in the history of wrestling. No one on this "family" could ever come close to the ability that the nWo possessed.

Still, the similarities do stand out. Though the nWo was a major force in wrestling, Vicki's "family" has become a thorn in WWE's side and is turning into a D-level nWo throwoff.
