  • My final blog

    Posted on 11/2/08 2:26 PM

Hey guys, it's been fun discussing wrestling with you all. As I've been more of an active commentor then blogger, I would like to give my final thoughts in my final blog here on wrestling marks. (Read bpapa's recent blog).

In my humble opinion, the WWE has been on a roll since summer started. Sure, the million dollar giveaway wasn't what many call a success, or very entertaining for that matter, but the conclusion of the "sweepstakes" was the beginning of some very entertaining television. With McMahon off of tv (finally!), anarchy reigned over Raw. The draft created some much needed shake-up of the WWE roster, and some very surprising moves came with it. Raw and Smackdown now seem to be more leveled-out with talent, with Smackdown possibly taking the larger portion of the cake when it coems to big names. Anyway, as the summer rolled on, WWE television rarely hit a slump. Some shows weren't as exciting as others, but payperviews and the overall picture have been action-packed. I think WWE is working itself out of their "recession" that fans have noted as the last couple of years. I think Wrestlemania 24 was the WWE's economic boom that got everything rolling!

And with talent such as John Cena, Randy Orton, and Edge returning to the ring, the WWE doesn't look to be slowing down one bit. If they keep it up, this Wrestlemania should be a historic one.

And then we get to the other side of things; TNA. Now, I know my last blog that I wrote condemned TNA for their Wrestlemania-event, Bound For Glory. I thought that the show that could have turned TNA around only led it down that familiar path of failure once again. However, the rebound that TNA did has shocked me. I can't tell you how much I am into their new "Main Event Mafia vs TNA Originals" storyline. It is amazing television! That storyline has signle-handedly breathed life into TNA. Along with that, Mick Foley becomming the head of things, and their new iMPACT zone, has layed foundations to a hopeful turn-around for TNA. One that TNA fans have hoped for a long, LONG time. I just hope this Main Event Mafia storyline continues throughout 2009 and possibly culminate at the next Bound For Glory. All I know is that if TNA keeps it up, they just might be competition for the boys at the big corporation one day. And that would be good for all wrestling fans.

Well, I suppose I'm done getting my thoughts out of my chest. Thank you fellow members of wrestling marks for discussing wrestling with me and bpapa for maintaining the site for all of us.

    I've had fun.

  • Jesus Christ TNA, you really do suck.

    Posted on 10/12/08 11:16 PM

Just watched Bound For Glory. It was a very weak payperview to be their "biggest of the year." But I wrote this for one reason- they gave the fuckin' title to Sting....again. Now when I heard he was main eventing the third straight year I was outraged, but now that he has one, I've completely given up on TNA. I could write a few more paragraphs but in all honesty I need to go to bed.

All I have to say is FUCK TNA. At least you could have had Somoa Joe win and show that you have faith in your own talent. You fail miserably, and you suck.

  • TNA, what the HELL?!

    Posted on 9/15/08 4:30 PM

Ok let me get one thing straight. I am not a "TNA hater." I watch and enjoy all professional wrestling but last night I witnessed something that made me thank God that I stumbled upon a live stream and decided not to order. And that catastrohpe was TNA's No Surrender. What a way to blow your first ppv in Canada, TNA! For anyone that caught the show, do you realize how many screw endings there were? There were several interferences to end a match, and one no contest. SERIOUSLY TNA?! It's a fucking payperview, not free iMPACT bullshit. There was some decent in ring work last night but unfortunatly the match was probably ruined by interference. And the few matches, and I mean FEW matches that did not have some bullshit ending, I didn't care about. Throw in the fact that Mick Foley was NOT at the ppv last night, despite a bullshit graphic on TNA's site which basically promoted him being there, and Jeff Jarret making his pitiful and predictable return in the main event that *GASP* ended the match on another bullshit ending!? And you have one of the worst payperviews I have ever seen. For those that say TNA always beats WWE in payperviews, I haven't seen that in a while and I definatly did not see it last night.

And also, maybe the biggest thing that pisses me off, is Sting ONCE AGAIN main eventing Bound For Glory. For those not counting, that's THREE years in a row he'll main event TNA's big show. And if he wins, then that's three years in a row that he has won TNA's big payperview. Is this TNA's sad attempt at making an Undertaker streak with Sting? I hope not. But I am pissed that once agian TNA is using Sting in the main event at their Wrestlemania. It's just getting old. I am a huge fan of Sting but I do not care for him AGAIN in the main event. It would have been much better if he would have had an uppermid card match with Jeff Jarret and then AJ Styles could have put on a wrestling classic with Joe to end the show. That would have said a lot about TNA's trust in their home-grown talent. But no, TNA has to milk Sting's name for all it's worth by putting him in the big spot yet again.

After last night, TNA took a major swerve in the wrong direction. And quite frankly, I'm sick of TNA's bullshit booking. It's time to step your game up or get the hell off the tv.

Thanks for listening to my rant. =]

  • "The Truth" Kenny Dykstra?

    Posted on 8/30/08 1:26 PM

Alright, I remember reading a couple months ago that Ron Killings was going to come up to Smackdown with the gimmick of "shooting" on the company and telling the complete truth. A gimmick that no doubt would appeal to most smarks on the internet. Well...I was yet to see a trace of that gimmick, BUT when he debut last night on Smackdown, I think I saw it. But the thing is, he wasn't the one "shooting" on the WWE, it was his opponent Kenny Dykstra!

So my question is, do you think the WWE gave that gimmick, or a variation of that gimmick, to Kenny? For those that missed it, Kenny came out with a mic in hand and expressed his views to everyone. He said that hes done everything that he can for the company to care about him, but it hasn't worked. He talked about his potential and how the WWE should not push a convict like R Truth over his talent. At the end, he said "Now THAT is the truth." For those that missed it, here is the link http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CTbrpD5Orvk

I think this gimmick could work well for Kenny Dykstra. I realize that he has been upset over the past few weeks and has interupted HHH several times, but last night was the first time that Kenny had a meaningful worked shoot. I, personally, hope this leads to a very nice push for the potential star.

  • Suggestions to improve this site!

    Posted on 8/27/08 9:02 PM

Ok, in the off chance that some admistrator reads this blog...I have a few suggestions on how to improve this potentially great site.

Don't get me wrong, it's already an excellent place where wrestling fans can discuss and get the latest news, but let me suggest the following improvements-

*There should be a news section where writers hired for this site report legitimate news stories. I do not like how readers of the site can post news, because it seems very unreliable. I often find myself having to go to prowreslting.com or another news source to read the latest wrestling headlines. I'm sure I'm not alone in this and that's not good for your site!

*This site needs to be promoted and advertised more. I had no idea about it until I saw an add about it on facebook. That and only that is the reason that I even found out that this site existed. Advertisements would be very helpful in promoting the site.

*And in personal preference, try out new layouts for the website. Add a clor scheme, more graphics, maybe organize it a bit better to add to the appeal. You want to draw in new visitors to the site. THE one thing about this site that I love more than any other wrestling website is how fans can post blog entries that other fans can read and comment on. So kudos for ya'll for establishing that!

Well that's about all I wanted to get off my chest. I hope this site grows a larger fan base eventually. I know I'll stay around for the long-haul.
