Raw 11/19/07 Review
by Petedaddydolla on 11/20/07 10:46 AM
The code has been broken, the walls have been broken down and so was the house! Raw was actually good last night live, from Fort Lauderdale,Florida! The first match of the night, Santino Marella pitted against Jerry Lawler was entertaining. I always enjoy seeing H.O.F. member The King beat an up and coming heel! The RKO at the end was a nice touch! The second match on the card, Jeff Hardy and Umanga...I mean Umaga was the sleeper match of the night! I didn't think these two would be able to put on a good program. The first one they did a while back was a bit lackluster in my opinion. Not so now, enter Triple H and Snitsky into the fray and you have a good solid tag match for next week.
This match was ALMOST as bad as the Hornswoggle/Carlito match! I speak of Bob Holly against foe/tag partner Cody Rhodes. Where the hell else can this angle go? They lost a hand fed title shot at Survivor Series, and the next night they are in a match against each other? At the risk of sounding a bit Seinfield-esque, "What is the deal?" What made is stomach-able was Randy Orton RKO'ing the shit outta both of them!
The diva match was entertaining as usual. I especially liked the bit with Jon Secada and Jillian Hall, it's always amusing to see an artist/celebrity do a spot with a wrestler like that. The match was so-so, I was really nervous when Jillian attempted that 450(Her finisher in OVW) and apparently hit Melina in the neck. Poor girl, her ego had probably not healed from screwing up her entry in the ring at Survivor Series! But again the bouncy and beautiful Mickie James hits the Long Kiss Goodnight on Jillian for the 3 count. If your wondering where Beth Phoenix was last night, well we were watching the show from my couch together...(IM KIDDING,I ain't that lucky!)
No D.Q. match...Hornswoggle versus Carlito....no one gives a DAMN!
Which segways into the best part of the night, the Torch Bearer arriving at the arena....and being clothslined out of his Nikes by Y2J! When he hit the ramp and the titantron showed the code video I jumped up and down like a little kid on Christmas! Beth told me to relax,(gotcha again!) no but really Jericho came out and started on the microphone like he never left at all. I like comebacks as much as the next fan, but this was something more special in my opinion. The industry needs Jericho as bad as he needs the industry. So from a greatful WWE fan I say THANK YOU AND WELCOME BACK Y2J!

Y2J just might make ortons life a living hell

That is the plan in the short term anyway. It will hopefully shape up to be a good feud for a while until they figure out which way to go after Y2J is done mopping the squared circle with Orton. Another Shelton Benjamin/Y2J program would be good but Benjamin isn't getting the push he was when he and Jericho worked their matches a couple of years ago. But another way to go would be Jericho/HBK, that would be entertaining!

I was really hoping for Jericho to come in and do a short feud with Santino. Y2J is really hitting the ground running by going up against Orton first, but I thought getting started with Santino, having weeks of fun promos leading to Jericho mopping the floor with Marella at Armageddon.
RAW's really going to be interesting the next few months. I still imagine HHH vs. Orton is the plan for WrestleMania, but with Jericho in there we could see him get a sort of Mick Foley early 1999 role. Plus HBK's involved (probably going over Kennedy, who still appears to be in the doghouse), Jeff Hardy is coming up, Umaga is a great hand as a heel, and now Flair is apparently about to get into the RAW mix. A great main event scene even with Cena out.

Yeah he and Marella could have had a good program, but they probably thought "What could we gain by brining back one of the most sought after wrestlers and having him feud with a mid-card jobber. Although nothing the WWE does surprises me anymore.

haha naw dude beth was with me last night (naw im kidding a aint that lucky either) i still wonder where she was that night i was kinda pissed, but cheered up when Y2J appeared all in all though it was a pretty interesting RAW.

yea Y2J/marella would have been fun to watch. but I think I have another prediction though.
Just picture it:
Marella comes down to the ring and does his thing. he's there trash talking some wwe legend (likely Lawler), when all of a sudden:
"When it comes crashin down and it hurts inside..."
out comes Hulk Hogan, who gives him the ass-whoopin' of a lifetime! a feud follows.
The fans would go berserk! And after all, Hogan could use the money, what with the nick hogan incident and now the divorce too.
