The Classic Discussion: John Cena
Posted on 2/7/08 4:21 PM
I will start this out with one simple question: What is everyone?s infatuation with John Cena? The one thing I read more than anything is how John Cena can?t wrestle. This just isn?t true. He, in YOUR opinion, may not wrestle well but he can still wrestle. John Cena only does 5 moves. Do you actually watch his matches counting the amount of moves he does in any given match? I bet not. You all complain about his repetitive move set but don?t get on others cases for the same. Triple H does the same shit. So does just about every other wrestler. Another thing I don?t get is the amount of hatred at one wrestler who supposedly can?t wrestle. Dave Batista can?t wrestle for shit yet many people ride his nuts. It makes no sense to me. Plus, what does his ?movie career? have to do with his wrestling? ?John Cena can?t wrestle and his movie sucks.? How the hell does that even matter? Whether or not he can act doesn?t matter. It only matters to the degree if he can get a reaction from the crowd, which he definitely gets. Also, John Cena apparently no sells moves during his matches. Give me a break. Every wrestler has no sold a move before. Shawn Michaels consistently no sells moves and seemingly refuses to ?job? to up and coming wrestling talent. The Undertaker no sells moves on a continual basis as well. Not everyone can sell moves like Mick Foley. Oh, and just to let you all know, I am NOT a ?Cena Fan? but I can still respect the man. I just will never cheer him.

Wrestlemania 24 in my eyes
Posted on 1/29/08 12:04 PM
Everybody has their own idea about how they want wrestlemania to be like and I'm no different. I would focus on matches to build current storylines (not making many new ones) and titles, titles, titles.
10 man Extreme Battle Royal for the new ECW TV Championship
Now, you may ask why debut a TV title on PPV? Easy, wrestlemania is the superbowl of wrestling, why not debut a title there. Take most of ECWs current roster to fill in the Battle Royal where only pinfalls and submissions knock people out. Classic Colt Cabana makes not only his Mania debut but also his WWE debut winning the new ECW TV Title.
Womans Title match
Im not high on womens wrestling and I never will be but the only Beth is losing that title is in a non 1-1 match. Fatal fourway with Maria, Candice and Ashley where Maria wins and the cover of Playboy could be here naked with the Womens title covering her.
Money in the Bank
This match speaks for itself but I want to see Umaga v. Kane v. Shelton Benjamin v. Mr. Kennedy v. CM Punk v. Ric Flair. I don't want this match to be in Flairs' retirement storyline and oviously Kenndy v. flair is already happening but this is what I want. I want to see CM Punk win this match and hold on to this for a while and challenge Edge down the line for the World Heavyweight Title.
United States Championship
We finally get to see Matt Hardy defeat MVP for the title so MVP can jump to Raw after a very brief run at Edge's title. After his jump to raw, he can quickly claim the IC title so he doesn't go to quickly at WWE Title. Plus, look at this. MVP has another hardy to feud with now. After he drops the IC title (MVP) can feud with Jeff over the WWE Title.
Tag Team Title Unification
Finally unify the tag titles so the champs can move to all three shows finding new challengers for their gold. The Miz and John Morrison defeat Cody and Hardcore Holly to be the undisbuted Tag Team champions of the world.
ECW Title
Chavo Guerreo defends agaisnt Tommy Dreamer. Dreamer wins the title in the first of great heel/face matchups in the last 3 matches.
World Title match
Undertaker v. Edge with both having undefeated streaks on the line. Edge wins ending takers streak and having his streak still going.
WWE Title
Randy Orton v. Jeff Hardy. Jeff realizes his dream and wins the title and Mania goes out on a good note with a face winning.
Please feel free to comment on my mania hopes and wishes. -
Ring of Honor predictions for 1/25/08
Posted on 1/23/08 3:44 PM
This is the card and my predictions for Ring of Honor on Friday January 25th 2008. I was 7-1 for my first ROH predictions and hope to continue with a good win loss record. On to the predictions.
Special Attraction Match
Claudio Castagnoli v. Adam Pearce with Shane Hagadorn
I pick Pearce to win here and my real only reason is his little sidekick is at ringside and Claudio really doesn?t have any buddies that I have noticed as of late (take in to consideration I can?t watch every ROH show).
Winner: Adam Pearce w/ Shane Hagadorn
Grudge Match
Daizee Haze v. Lacey
I?m not much on women?s wrestling but I have a feeling, and this is just a feeling, that Lacey will find a way ala Jimmy Jacobs to win this one.
Winner: Lacey
No DQ Match
Hangmen 3 (BJ Whitmer & Brent Albright) v. Delirious & El Generico
I have trouble picking matches involving Albright simply because I think he could win every match he is in. Plus, since Delirious and El aren?t a team, I?m going to have to go with Whitmer and Albright here.
Winner: Hangmen 3 (BJ Whitmer and Brent Albright)
Age of the Fall v. No Remorse Corps
Jimmy Jacobs & Mystery Partner w/ Lacey v. Roderick Strong & Rocky Romero
First, I think the partner will be Necro Butcher and that this match could get very sick depending how far the refs will let it go. Jacobs is sick in the ring and one of my favorite wrestlers overall but I think No Remorse Corps will win gaining some spend into the Chicago show.
Winner: No Remorse Corps (Roderick Strong and Rocky Romero)
Special Challenge Match
Bryan Danielson v. Tyler Black
This is going to be a good match for Black to be in. He gets to wrestler a ROH great and promote Age of the Fall at the same time. Too bad Dragon is going to win.
Winner: Bryan Danielson
First Time Ever
The Briscoe Brothers v. Ruckus & Jigsaw
My favorite team and wrestlers are the Briscoes so I pick them. They rock.
Winner: The Briscoe Brothers
FIP World Heavyweight Championship
Erick Stevens © v. Austin Aries v. Davey Richards
ROH is pushing the hell out of Stevens and he isn?t going to lose this title any time soon. Look for Erick Stevens to have a big year in 2008.
Winner: FIP World Heavyweight Champion Erick Stevens
ROH World Championship Steel Cage Match
Nigel McGuinness © v. Chris Hero
I have a bad feeling about this match. I have this feeling that Hero could win this match but hope Nigel retains here.
Winner: ROH World Champion Nigel McGuinness

Picks for Royal Rumble
Posted on 1/22/08 2:53 PM
The WWE presents The Royal Rumble on January 27th 2008. This write up is dated January 18th 2008 at 11:17 EST. Now let?s get a rundown of the matches announced.
Chris Jericho v. JBL
This match is based on hatred and in my opinion is make or break for both of these competitors. The man who wins this match will definitely be in a title contention and the unlucky who losses will be downgraded to midlevel matches. I believe that WWE would like JBL to win because he never left the company and he is making his comeback as to where Jericho took a break from wrestling for himself. In my opinion, JBL is going to win this match. One way or another, JBL gets the nod in this match but this feud isn?t going to end anytime soon.
- Winner: JBL
Career Threatening Match: WWE United States Champion MVP v. Ric Flair
With the storyline being if Flair losses, he has to retire, then Flair isn?t losing this match. It will be good, hopefully, and MVP has gotten loads better. This is basically a filler match for MVP until Matt Hardy gets better to take the US title away from him. WWE has put too much stock in that feud to end it to an injury that happened at the wrong time.
- Winner: Ric Flair
World Heavyweight Championship match: Edge (c) v. Rey Mysterio
Edge is amazing. I don?t care what anyone thinks or says but Mysterio doesn?t deserve to be in main event World title matches. There is cruiserweight title which currently isn?t active for some stupid reason but why not give it to Rey. Edge is personally one of my favorite WWE wrestlers and he is going to win this match hands down. This will set up the match against Undertaker at Wrestlemania for the World Championship, in which I hope and believe Edge retains breaking Undertaker?s undefeated record.
- Winner: World Heavyweight Champion Edge
WWE Championship Match: Randy Orton (c) v. Jeff Hardy
This match would steal the show if it wasn?t for the rumble match. It has been built greatly and will be the best match (other than rumble) on the PPV. I really want to see Hardy win this but I just don?t think that will happen. Orton is one of my top three favorites in WWE (Punk, Edge, and Orton) but I really want to see Hardy win this because he deserves it. But, Triple H has a chance to get into the rumble and if he gets in, he will be the winner of the rumble unless Vince has different ideas for Triple H this year. I predict Orton wins but I want Hardy to.
- Winner: WWE Champion Randy Orton
The Royal Rumble Match
If Triple H gets into the Royal Rumble match, he will win the match. If Triple H doesn?t get into the match then Undertaker will win the match. Either way, IMO, Triple H v. Randy Orton for the WWE Championship at Wrestlemania and Undertaker v. Edge for the World Heavyweight title at Wrestlemania.
- Winner: Triple H
