Mike Adamale

What do you all think of Mike Adamale as ECW's new commentator?
Obviously, he's no Jim Ross or Jerry Lawler, and he doesn't bring the fire that Joey Styles brought to ECW for years.
Personally, I think Adamale is a halfway decent announcer. Sure, his commentating is so-so right now, but he wasn't horrible in his previous announcing positions. I think he'll do fine once he gets a good grip on the way WWE in announced as opposed to other sports.

He wasn't horrible in his previous announce positions? He botched someone's name during interview sessions on a weekly basis. I mean, if you say a dozen words a night tops and you can't even do that right, then why are you getting promoted to the announce team?
As for what I don't like about his PBP skills, he can't call ANY moves, he NEVER talks (which isn't neccessarily a bad thing in his case), Taz is doing ALL the commentary duties, he just sits there and pipes up every once in a while, he never calls any action, the sum of his calling skills is, "wow, would you look at that." ANYONE can do what he's doing. Maybe he was a good football announcer or whatever he did before this, but he has a LONG way to go as far as calling wrestling matches.

I agree, he does have some work to do.
But in all seriousness, I think he's a better announcer than Coach, who I am pleased to see has left the Smackdown commentary position in favor of Mick Foley.
To be honest, I would love to see Adamale replaced by someone like Stone Cold. I know, its very unlikely, but I think that would provide a better overall commentary experience.

I think Coach is a better announcer. For one, he was doing color which is a lot easier to do. Two, Coach at least tried to be part of the broadcast and add some input. He didn't do a great job of it, but that's still more than Adamle can say. Three, Stone Cold and Taz as a team would be like having Jerry Lawler and Taz on the same broadcast. There's really not much of a point to having two color guys, you need someone to call the action somewhere in there. Four, moving Joey Styles was just a bad idea. He is one of the best play-by-play guys around, and it's hard to even find a decent replacement, let alone someone who can measure up to him. Just going down the list of people they have right now that would be qualified, the best they could do is try Tod Grisham or Justin Roberts, and even then they take a chance that they're just as bad as Adamle. I think their best bet would be to send a talent scout to some indy shows and try to find a good replacement.

Adamale should be replaced by the rock

Ex-wrestlers do color, it's like the cardinal rule behind broadcast. For some reason, most wrestlers just aren' very good at calling the action, that or they never get the chance to show it. Either way, they get put on broadcast teams mostly for their vast knowledge and experience. That's a color guy, a guy who can relate the match to a lot of different things in the business, knows a lot of wrestling facts, can give input into match psychology, and who typically either plays up the feel of the match or facilitates banter by playing the more charismatic as opposed to calling the action. Taz does color, what ECW needs is a play-by-play guy.

Play-by-play guy for ECW should be guys like Todd Grisham. He really knows about the whole wrestling thing. Adamle is just plain and boring.
