  • Thoughts on Big Show vs. Mayweather

    Posted on 3/10/08 11:23 PM

Now before Petedaddydolla and willierko piss themselves, I know this blog has just been done, but after what happen, I have to provide my 2 cents on the turn this feud has taken. Simply put, for WWE's sake, this injury better be kayfabe. Because if it's legit, and the $20 Million paycheck is also legit, then WWE better get ready to start bleeding money. And this really couldn't have happened at a worse time, what with it basically being hyped as the main event of WrestleMania. Oh man, if this is legit, then my prediction is right. WWE - Welcome back to 1995. Population: You.

  • ROH needs a TV deal.

    Posted on 3/10/08 6:32 PM

ROH is certainly the best US Promotion today and is the true alternative to WWE. However, it's incredibly hard to keep up with them, because I don't have the time and money to buy all of their DVD'S and go to their shows. I WOULD order the PPV's, but my shitty PPV carrier won't let me order shows without a phone connected to the reciver (I tried to order Driven last year but it wouldn't let me). Right now, ROH has the same momentum that TNA had back in 2005, so I think that if they got the right network, they could have a successful wrestling show. Fans like me who have trouble keeping up with them have an easier time in doing so without it being financialy strainous, and can actually look forward to watching wrestling every week. And not only that, but they can pull in new fans, like how TNA eventually did. What do you think?

  • TNA Criticism: A Double Standard?

    Posted on 3/6/08 10:29 PM

Now, in no way am I suggesting that I like TNA. They really need to get their shit together and stop pushing WWrEjects over homegrown talent, and fire Vince Russo and Dutch Matell and hire bookers who know what the fuck they're doing. However, I think some of the criticism of TNA is somewhat hypocritical. Why? Because I bet that half of the people that hate TNA loved WWF in 1999. Current day TNA and 1999 WWF weren't that different. Hell, I'd even suggest that TNA is BETTER. WWF had so many awful storylines in 1999. Damn near anything involving Undertaker, Vince McMahon winning the WWF Title, Beaver Cleavage, Steve Austin getting thrown off of a bridge and coming back the next week, Mark Henry getting a blowjob from a trany, anything involving Big Bossman, and so much more. Compared to 1999 WWF, TNA is like ROH. I'm just saying, don't have big double standards when criticising an entire promotion.

  • Do Wrestling Promoters really learn from the past?

    Posted on 3/6/08 7:16 PM

It seems that Vince is trying to recapture lightning in a bottle without realizing what caused Wrestling's boom period: a near complete change in programming with storylines you've never seen before or often. These days, both WWE and TNA copy popular storylines from the Attitude era and hope the fans get behind it. It seems like WWE is so desperate for a mainstream star that when they see someone with the slightest amount of mainstream potential, they push him to the moon. John Cena is the perfect example. He had potential to be the next big star in the company, but it was going to take a while to get him to really reach that level. However, as soon as WWE saw this, they shoved him down our throats, putting making him the top guy on Raw, putting him in an unsuccessful movie, releasing an album for him, etc. However, they didn't let him truly get over. They just pushed him as soon as they saw potential in him. I bet people like me wouldn't be as hostile toward him if they actually let him get over.

  • How I'd book Undertaker vs. Edge

    Posted on 3/2/08 5:17 PM

In my opinion, Hell In A Cell matches are at their best when they have a good feud going into them so that you can really get into the story. However, in the 10 year history, the only feud that really capitalized on the main purpose of the match-to keep everybody in and everybody else out-is the first one between HBK and Undertaker. So what I would make Edge vs. UT a Hell In A Cell match. It works perfectly. Edge is the chickenshit heel who when outnumbered or outmatched always depends on interference or simply tucks tail, runs, and lives to fight another day. UT's made attempt after attempt to get th title back, but Edge is such a pussy that he never gets it back. So one week, Vicki gets attacked yet again and then the next week, UT's about to get his hands on Edge but the Edgeheads help him out. Then, Teddy Long comes out and makes Edge vs. UT a Hell In A Cell match so that Edge has nowhere to run, and no way for him to get help. UT finally gets his hands on Edge without having to worry about sheanigans.
