  • WWE vs. TNA.

    Posted on 3/18/08 5:59 PM

Right now, both WWE and TNA are pretty bad. WWE is well...WWE, whil TNA being absolutely mauled by Vince Russo and his Russorific booking. These days thoug, I'd rather watch TNA. While they basically make a living off of bad booking and have some stupid things like Curry Man & Sharkboy, and AJ Styles accidentally marrying each other on accident, but in my OPINION, no stupid TNA storyline can reach the same level of stupidity and level of insult to the intelligence as Vince exploding in a Limo, Eddie Guerrero and Rey Misterio feuding over the custody of Rey's child, HHH fucking a dummy while dressed up as Kane, anything involving Undertaker in 1994 and 1999, UT & Kane's lightning bolt wars of '98, and so much more. TNA also has better matches on Impact and especially better Pay-Per-Views. But at the same time, TNA often times pushes the wrong people, and Kurt Angle's death grip on the main event is the main thing wrong with TNA in a sea of wrong things. However, unlike WWE, TNA has actually managed to improve.

  • What's your favorite type of ladder match?

    Posted on 3/17/08 10:00 PM

Now, I know I've already done this blog already, but after watching The Ladder Match DVD (courtesy of my Wrestlingmarks blogger of the month victory), I've noticed that there are three types of ladder matches: the spotfests, a la the TLC Matches, the matches that are based around the concept that if you get hit with a ladder, IT WILL FUCKING HURT a la Chris Benoit vs. Chris Jericho, and the story-based ladder matches that mix the two styles, a la Razor Ramon vs. Shawn Michaels. I personally like all three. I think that the spotfests work the best in multi-man matches, because if you have 6 guys trying to out-stiff each other or tell a story, it will turn into a clusterfuck. However, when it's two guys in the ring, I think the other two work the best because if you have 2 guys doing as many spots as possible, it becomes a clusterfuck and comes of as VERY formulaic. What's your take?

  • The state of the mid-card.

    Posted on 3/17/08 6:03 PM

As I've touched on in my last blog, WWE hasn't been using it's mid-card right in recent months. They've pushed them aside so that they can put all of their main eventers on their Pay-Per-Views. However, thanks to circumstances in the past couple of weeks, I've actually become hopeful for the mid-card. We have a new IC Champ, and hopefully, WWE will give Chris Jericho some meaningful feuds for it. However, WWE could do things to improve. First, they should ditch cross-brand Pay-Per-Views again. I enjoyed WWE a lot more back in 2005 and 2006 because Raw and Smackdown were kept seperate from each other and it allowed WWE to give the mid-card guys some good programs without shoving them aside since they could get everyone on their brand on a single PPV. They should also trim the fat and push the right people. For the love of God, the fans don't give a flying fuck about people like Cody Rhodes or the Chuck Palumbo. So get rid of them and push some guys who are over, such as Santino or Carlito. What do you think?

  • Will Samoa Joe's possible title win be truly impactful?

    Posted on 3/16/08 10:18 PM

Right now, what with Samoa Joe putting his career on the line and Karen Angle being taken out of the equation, all signs point to Samoa Joe winning the title. This is long overdue, and I think his win will nearly be as impactful as it would've been if he would have won it in 2006 back when he was feuding with Jeff Jarrett, but TNA was more interested in giving Sting the win. Samoa Joe had a ton of momentum back in 2006 thanks to the X-Division program with Christopher Daniels and AJ Styles; a world title win would have been huge. They had multiple chances to give him the title in 2007, but they dropped the ball each time to the point where he lost his momentum. They gave him a new character that was centered around his discontent with the way he was being used, but it made him look like a big baby in the process and did more damage to him. Thankfully, TNA has turned him into a badass and is using him the right way. However, becaue of their misuse of Joe last year, a title win won't be as big as it could be.

  • Thoughts on Jeff Hardy

    Posted on 3/15/08 3:06 PM

God, I feel bad for him. As we found out today, Jeff Hardy's house burned down to the ground and he lost everything that he owns. This is just a horrible time for him. Not only has he been suspended, but he's now lost his house. I just hope that this incident doesn't accelarate his current drug problems.
