Importance Of CM Punk And John Morrison
by willierko on 4/24/08 4:46 AM
These 2 represent the immediate future of the Main Event Scene in the WWE, along with The Miz (who is much farther down the line), MVP (who is really close) Carlito and Shelton Benjamin (ok maybe not these 2, but if they ever decide to push them...ah ah ah...I know it won't happen)
The reason I Point out these 2 phenomenal wrestlers is because 1, they are already " world " champions, 2, have you seen thier matches together ? OMG, these 2 put on the best set of matches in the last year. the only 2 that can probably contest these 2 in best set of matches is probably Joe-Angle. But IMO Joe-Angle lack the natural chemistry that Morrison-Punk have.
I mean take for instance their ECW title match from when Punk won the title. That match was sooo good and if you have not seen it I suggest You go out and watch that beauty. I meant it had everything, it had a nice build, it told a great story there was some good in ring psychology, the crowd was into it and these 2 put in an amazing effort. I mean that was their best match in their WWE careers ( I say WWE careers because I can say Joe-Punk matches were classic in ROH).And yes I do count the Money In The Bank, their match was better than the money in the bank (all 4)..(again In My Opinion).
Even take for instance their match from about a month ago on smackdown right before wrestlemania. I mean granted it was not as good as there ECW title classic, and I think it was because the lack of time and there was no story, but this match ahd 2 very great things, Innovativeness and Pshycology. CM Punk pulled off an amazing innovative spot when he pulled off an elevated top rope hurricanrana. That was beautiful.
Its sad some people frown upon the time when The Undertaker, HBK, Y2J and HHH retire, i sort of welcome it in the wake of new main event feuds like CM Punk Vs edge, or MVP Vs. Randy Orton, or Mr. Kennedy Vs. John Morrison. All these feuds ahve the potential to be great and even classics.

The WWE it seems definitely has CM Punk pegged as the future. You're probably right about Morrison as well. Both are athletic types that the WWE needs. I enjoy Taker, HHH and HBK but I look forward to the young guys emerging as true superstars.
