How come people who THRASH wrestling still watch it???
by Treilond on 3/13/08 6:47 PM
Ok, I understand the WWE to some is in a terrible state right now, that is completely their opinion about the situation. But what I don't understand is people who can sit and Say how much the WWE sucks and watch it week after week after week. I mean does that make sense. I mean to be it is comepletly understandable that you could think that, its your right to have that opinion about the WWE or any kind of wrestling promotion, but if you are going to say that the wrestling promotion sucks, why watch it and know every single aspact of it. It PISSES me off when somebody can say, "Oh WWE did this back in 1995" stuff like that and know ever freakin thing about the Promotion and have so much knowledge for something they hate. I know a guy that everytime we talk about Raw on mondays, He talks about how much he hates it, but that next week he is watching it and can tell me Exactly what had happened that week in every aspect. WTF. This guy believes that the WWE sucks so much, yet he knows every thing about it. He also thinks TNA sucks, but yet he watches it every week. I don't understand what it is. Why watch something when you are going to THRASH IT. He says "Oh I hate John Cena" Yet when he is at my house he watched old John Cena Promos for 4 hours straight. WTF. So what are your opionions on this. Should People who hate Wrestling Watch it? Or should they stop giving the promotions Ratings?

I think they should leave wrestling alone and get something better to watch on Mondays.

I actually only catch 5 minutes of Raw and then read JD Dunn's RAWTopsy on 411mania for laughs since he's funny.

I'm just say they hate it, then they watch it, Thats being Hyporcritical
From JamesP on 3/13/08 7:31 PM
Admitedyly, I've watched more wrestling this year than I did exactly a year go. I almost completely stopped watching Raw thanks to the Trump-Rosie debacle.

I will agree, at times it can be over the top, but to love the business and just except it as an ongoing aspect of trying to entertain, you have to get over it sometimes
From JamesP on 3/13/08 7:47 PM
Yeah, but it's so frequent these days. The now titled Vince McMahon Saga of summer-fall 2007 was almost, but then they became somewhat interesting again, although they fumbled with that.
From Treilond on 3/13/08 7:48 PM
What was the Vince McMahon Saga, when he was like bald, then died?

I will never agree with that mentality. I love movies, does that mean I should love every movie ever made? No, I have preferences because of what they do well and what they fail to do well. Not only have we devolved to the point of accepting it because it entertains [some], but now we accept it because it TRIES to entertain? I'm someone who always demands quality. I have certain things I look for in a wrestling match, and in a show. If I fail to see those things week after week I stop watching, period.
That being said, I do love wrestling. I catch what I can, but I'm pretty busy so that usually amounts to between 0 and 2 hours a week. I usually never see a full show, but I always read the run-downs and will watch youtube clips if I really feel like I need to see something. I find that I can get a pretty good idea of how well a show measures up to my standards by sticking to this formula.

Oh whoops, I meant to say almost the last straw. Dammit, I think too much when I'm typing to the point where I THINK I write something, but I don't.
From JamesP on 3/13/08 8:04 PM
And yes, The Vince McMahon saga is when he went insane and died, as well as when the whole illegitimate son business. Say what you will about TNA, but at least they never do shit like death and illegitimate son business and EXPECT US TO TAKE IT SERIOUSLY. I mean, at least the Fish Market Street Fight was basically MEANT to bring laughs.

I love wrestling and sure I have complains here or there, but no matter how bad it gets I will stick with the WWE all the way and even TNA. About everyone complains about wrestling that doesn't mean they hate it because if they watch wrestling every week that means they are true wrestling fans no matter how bad it is. Fans who abandon wrestling because it starts to get boring or bad aren't true wrestling fans.
From theone86 on 3/13/08 8:07 PM
And I'd rather watch Shark Boy and Curry Man actually wrestle matches, albiet comedy matches, than watch a midget run around kicking people in the balls and biting thier ass.
From JamesP on 3/13/08 8:12 PM
Yeah, I've got to admit, even though things are bad right now, considering how much I used to be a devoted viewer, it's hard NOT to be tempted to change the channel back to Raw. I still frequently watch wrestling DVD's and shit like that on a normal basis.
From Treilond on 3/13/08 8:48 PM
Alright theone 86, Im not saying you have to like everything in wrestling, but their are people who say that WWE sucks, and yet they still watch it, thats like me thinking a Whopper Jr. Sucks, and still eat it every chance I get, does that make since
From Petedaddydolla on 3/13/08 9:02 PM
This is a funny topic, being from Michigan it is like the people who complain about the season ticket price for the Lions going up, but to people boycott the William Clay Ford and Matt Millen Lions? No, they go to games and then bitch about it. That is as ignorant as bitching and saying WWE is terrible, then watching it 3 times a week. Makes no sense does it?
From Treilond on 3/13/08 9:03 PM
Thats the point I'm saying, I just makes me mad when people say they hate WWE and Raw or something, but catch it every week
From Petedaddydolla on 3/13/08 11:05 PM
I understand what your saying.
From theone86 on 3/14/08 3:52 PM
I kinda get what you're saying. I guess I really have to see what you're talking about to understand it. There are periods where I really start to dislike WWE, but I still follow it. If it seems like it's getting better from the summaries I might watch a show, and if I like it I might make a habit out of it again, but if I really start to get fed up I just tune out for a while.
From JamesP on 3/14/08 5:01 PM
I don't think that the Whopper example is a good analogy for something like wrestling. For food, you usually love it or hate it immediately after eating it, and it will never taste good or bad to you afterwards. However, Wrestling, just like all forms of entertainment, is an aquired taste. You can evntually like it, or you might start having negative feelings about it. If you become a fan of WWE for a long period of time, and then it starts sucking, all you can do is complain because you KNOW it can be better. However, I can't stop watching because of that fact. I WANT WWE to be successful, so I keep giving them chances, but they're really not doing anything worthy of changing my current opinion about it, so all I can do is just complin about them not doing anything right.
From Treilond on 3/23/08 7:36 PM
WWE is in a good state right now in my opinion
From fyrooz4125 on 3/24/08 12:52 AM
I love wrestling and it is all because of WWE. I mean I am from Malaysia, but still have a lot of interest in wrestling even though WWE is in America, which is very, very far away. Today, WWE looks in a better shape compared to the WWE during the Invasion days until 2006.
