Heel or Face
by 92tombstone92 on 8/13/08 11:19 PM
HEEL OR FACE what do you think is more challenging for a superstar to pull off and if you were a superstar which one would you rather persue.
For me i would say a Heel is harder for a superstar pull of because its harder to work if your getting booed at, and your unliked by the fans. Also, the pressure of being the bad guy would get to you esp when the fans are chanting you suck or asshole. Being a face would probably be more easy because fans are cheering for you and chanting your name.

I agree, I think heel is harder. Most people aren't jerks like heels make themselves out to be. If you ever watch shoot interviews, most of those guys who are heels seem like decent guys. I think most guys can be a face naturally but to be a good heel you gotta work at it.
As a kid my all-time favorite wrestler was Roddy Piper. No one had more heat than Roddy in 1985. So I always wanted to be a heel. I remember going to the "War to Settle the Score" at MSG in February '85. I was almost 14 years old. I wore a Piper shirt I had made at a local T-Shirt store. I cheered so hard for Piper against Hogan that I almost got beat up by some of the Hogan Marks. It was great. It made me forever appreciate heels.

I say face is harder, to work, that is. Being a heel you get to pace the match, and rile the crowd up, which is easier than trying to get the fans to like you. Good babyfaces make working face look easy because of the charisma they have, etc. Heels, without real provocation (look at Vladimir Koslov for further proof) can be disliked for simply showing up to the ring. Toss in a couple of "cheat" moves, and the heel has done 3/4s of the work to put the face over!
