The Summerslam Card is on the Ups!
Posted on 7/29/08 7:59 PM
Wow. . .that?s some animosity toward a fellow wrestling fan. Gentlemen lets simmer down, it?s not that serious. Everyone is entitled to how they feel about a wrestler, that?s why we have this site so we can vent on who we hate and what we would change. As far as being looked at as a dork, who cares! I know what I like and I don't care if people view me as a dork just because I enjoy wrestling, hey I still get laid for being me and I'm a wrestling fan through and through and that is me!
Well this years Summerslam looks good, the match that is sure to stand out above the rest will be the Hell in a Cell match between Taker and Edge (of course I?ll be rooting for Edge). The storyline has done great and this match will be the icing on the cake. The other matches do fail in comparison to the Hell in a Cell match; The Triple H Vs the Great Kahli for the WWE title is bound to be a struggle for Triple H. Kahli is absolutely horrible in the ring and I guess creative is giving Triple H the challenge of being the first superstar to make a good match with Kahli. No matter how great Triple H is in the ring, it will take the grace of god to make this match good, I predict the match to be less than stellar.
The ECW title match between Mark Henry and Matt Hardy should be somewhat enjoyable. Matt Hardy will put on an impressive show doing what he can to win the title but with his limited arsenal of moves and his enormous "strength" Mark Henry is sure to reign supreme.
And finally the Batista vs. Cena match. Two of the biggest egos are finally going to go head to head to see who kisses Vince?s ass the most. My money is on Cena but I just hope he gets the living shit beat out of him by Batista in the process. I dislike both their characters but if I had to choose one to like it would be Batista, the only reason why I am picking Cena over him is that I can see Vince favoring him over Batista. The match should be the 2nd best match on the show underneath the Hell in a Cell Match.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed about CM Punks opponent for this Pay Per View, I hope after this Monday Night Raw episode the creative got word that Jericho threw his name in the hat to be the # 1 Contender and I don?t know about anyone else but a match between Chris Jericho and CM Punk would def. be a great main event for the World Title. -
What Happened to all the Managers in WWE?
Posted on 7/15/08 7:32 PM
Back in the 80's and early 90's of Pro Wrestling us as fans would usually see a wrestler (mostly heel) with a manger/ valet walking their wrestler to the ring and cheering them on throughout their matches. Greats like Bobby "the Brain" Heenan, "Classy" Freddie Blassie, Jimmy "Mouth of the South" Hart, Mrs. Elizabeth and Sherri Martel were apart of the WWE family making the matches interesting. Yeah I know three of the five listed are no longer living on this earth with of us but their work as a WWE character will not go overlooked. Each of them played a huge role in their superstar?s matches by interfering, distracting or creating ruckus on the outside. The managers now a day (what little or none we have left) couldn't hold a candle to the likes of the ones of the past.
Now a day, it seems none of the superstars have a manager and all the superstars are left to fend for themselves during interviews. If some of the less talented stars on the mic had the option of having a manager and allowing them to speak for them like Bobby Heenan use to do for the "Heenan Family", guarantee that star will get way more of a push. In his book, Heenan said that he would be paired with some people in order for them to receive a big push and for the most part, every person I have ever seen him paired with got major heat as a heel. Heenan was a great attraction to boring matches. Heenan would interfere or when he was getting pummeled by a baby face like Hogan or Bossman. He went on to say that Nick Bockwinkel was a horrible wrestler but Heenan would make the match interesting through his antics outside the ring. I believe the WWE needs to attract some managers back to their company to give some of the rising stars more of a push to become the next generation of the sport. -
The Best There Ever Will BE? HUH?
Posted on 7/10/08 7:55 PM
Ok I'm probably going to get ripped on this one but hey, what?s all little controversy with an opinion. Bret the Hitman Hart. . . The best there is, The best there was and The best there ever will be! Yeah right! The man did have some good matches in his 13 year career with the WWE and some less than stellar matches in WCW. Hart had some good matches as a tag team member of the Hart Foundation with Jim Neidhart against Demolition, Legion of Doom and the Rockers and as a singles competitor Hart had great rivalries with Diesel, Owen Hart, Stone Cold Steve Austin and the Undertaker. His most notarized opponent would definitely have to be Shawn Michaels, between the two guys they had a lot of controversy and drew loads of money, but when you think of it, who do you believe drew more of the crowd Bret or Shawn? They both were at the top of their game but who was more marketable? I'd say Shawn, hands down, yeah the Hitman possess a lot of in-ring talent but he was stale. In his interviews he whined a lot and was very monotone, sounded sort of like what Keanu Reeves would if he was oa WWE star on the mic.
Bret's matches didn't lack as much as his interviews did because the man had the technical skills to make his matches good but they were not good to call them ?great?. I have his DVD "the Best there is the Best. . . ." Blah whatever and after watching his matches it was pretty much bland. So bland that I nodded off half way through the DVD because it was so typical what he did every match, there were no variations to his matches it was the same turning point with the same moves over and over. An easier way to say it is he was stale, boring. The only true pop Hart got when performing in the ring was when he ran full force to the corner turnbuckle sternum first.
Now back to his overall attitude, The man was a whiner and to justify that take a look at the ever controversial "Montreal Screw Job", yeah it was very sneaky and underhanded from one vantage point, but from a business stand point McMahon did what he had to do cause he to make sure Bret didn't screw him like Hall and Nash did. McMahon didn't want Bret to do what Alundra Blaze/ Medusa did to the WWE Woman?s title and drop the WWE World Title in a trash can on National TV, so he screwed Bret cause Bret didn't want to give the title up. If I had to put the best quote forward to the issue that happened in Montreal it would be from, Triple H on the Shawn Michaels DVD, "Fuck him, if he doesn't want to do business then you do business for him!" This in my mind was justified to save the image of the company. Bret only made himself look more like a baby by smashing the monitors at the color commentator?s desk, spitting on his boss and then looking at the camera and writing W-C-W in the air. Then to top things off, Hart goes in to his McMahon?s office and literally punch him in the eye, and I just find it sad that someone who was respected by so many people would do such an embarrassing thing to the company who made him a star, it?s just sad.
Harts latest antics were pretty pathetic, where he had the opportunity to give a speech about his late father Stu Hart, who was giving the honor of being inducted into the Dan Gable Hall of Fame in Waterloo, Iowa. During Bret's speech he threw a tantrum over columnist Greg Oliver for Slam Wrestling who also was in attendance to receive an award. Hart had a grudge against Oliver for Oliver?s' book "Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame: The Canadians" in which Oliver listed Hart #14 as one of the greatest Canadian wrestlers of all time. Hart must have still had a little chip on his shoulder for the low ranking, so Hart gave an ultimatum during the speech stating that either Oliver leaves the ceremony or Hart will leave and without conflict Oliver left the awards ceremony but soon after the speech so did Hart. Bret must have thought he deserved better credibility and should at least be in the top 5 of Oliver?s rankings, but I believe that Hart got the rightful spot on that list. . . .maybe he should have been dropped a few more spots for an antic like this.
Someone?s demeanor and character goes a long way, I personally never thought Hart was as good as the WWE portrayed him. Harts ego must have gotten the best of him and in my mind he will be known as The Biggest Baby there is, The Biggest Whiner there was, and The Biggest Controversial Star There ever will be! -
Mike Adamle is Absolutely Horrible
Posted on 6/24/08 5:59 PM
It was great to have 5 different voices on the Raw show for the Draft. Yeah there were 6 bodies but only 5 were doing good commentary, because Mike Adamle is horrible and I don't know how desperate WWE is for announcers but he desperately needs to be replaced. During his time to shine during the Tommy Dreamer vs. MVP match, but Adamle was discussing non match material with Mick Foley and had to be reminded that there was a match going by Tazz interjecting, not to mention there was a lot of uncalled action by the former American Gladiator co-host. The man is missing a lot of spots when he is doing the play by play for matches, gets the wrestlers mixed up from time to time and lacks enthusiasm when he speaks about the matches. I don?t know about most fans but I love hearing the color commentary of Jr and Joey Styles. Those two play by play commentators make the match more interesting with the way they put the superstars up with their voices. Hearing Mike Adamle is like listening to a school teacher, yeah there are giving you information about something but you just don?t feel like listening to them!

The last pick of the draft sucks!!!!
Posted on 6/24/08 5:12 PM
The three hour Raw was great, it had all three show?s rosters there and the draft left me on the edge of my seat the entire night. I was really liking how Raw was getting so many big names like Rey Mysterio, CM Punk, Batista, Kane and Michael Cole (haha just kidding bout the last one). All these big names added to the roster of Raw was looking great (except Cole, he doesn't compare to Jr by no standards) and since I'm a huge Triple H fan I was looking forward to creative reigniting the rivalry between Triple H and Batista or a new rivalry between Triple H and Rey Mysterio. Both would have been great and probably boosted ratings, but being the opportunist that he is, Edge (my favorite for Smackdown) won the battle royal and secured the two last draft picks for Smackdown and adding Mr. Kennedy and Triple H to their roster.
Yeah I'm kind of disappointed to see Triple H go to Smackdown but I know that he and Edge will have a great feud and draw ratings because they are both great athletes. The only issue is that now one of my favorite stars will have to drop their title to their opponent at Night of Champions, which sucks but I know that a single show cannot carry both major titles.
