I don't know if anyone has done this blog before but I'm going to do it anyway. Most wrestlers have finishers, and they use them to win their matches. So I want to know what are your favorite finishers. You can name finishers done by wrestlers from WWE,TNA,WCW, and even ECW.You can also name finishers done by wrestlers from the past as well as tag teams from the past and present. I'll get the ball rolling by giving you my list. These are my favorites and like them for various reasons. Either they're unique and creative or painful and effective.
The Undertaker's Tombstone Piledriver
JBL's Clothesline From Hell
Stone Cold Steve Austin's Stone Cold Stunner
Randy Orton's RKO
Jeff Hardy's Swanton Bomb
Chris Jericho's Codebreaker
Carlito's Backcracker
Brock Lesnar's F-5
Mr. Kennedy's Green Bay Plunge (If you haven't seen it play SvR 07)
Umaga's Samoan Spike
Kane's Chokeslam From Hell
Matt Hardy's Twist Of Fate
MVP's Playmaker (I always thought this was one of the stupidest finishers but, seeing him use it made me like it.)
The Great Khali's Khali Bomb
John Morrison's Corkscrew Neckbreaker
CM Punk's GTS
Matt Striker's Golder Rule (He's only used it once and I gotta admit, it's creative and effective.)
Elijah Burke's Elijah Express ( I don't think he should remove his kneepads when he uses it, potential risk for injury.)
Tazz's Tazzmission
AJ Styles' Styles Clash
Hernandez's Border Toss
Homicide's Gringo Killa
Jay Lethal's Lethal Combo
Judas Mesias' Straight To Hell
Petey Williams' Flip Piledriver
Kevin Nash's Jacknife Powerbomb
Goldust's Shattered Dreams
Power & Glory's Superplex & Bodysplash Combo
Rob Van Dam's Van Daminator,Van Terminator, and Five Star Frog Splash
Goldberg's Jackhammer
Team 3D's 3D

Lance Cade & Trevor Murdoch's Sweet & Sour
Deuce & Domino's Crack Em In The Mouth ( Simple but effective.)
Earthquake's Tremors

Batista's Batista Bomb
La Resistance's Au Revoir
Yokozuna's Banzai Drop

If you didn't limit it to just the past/current US Promotions I would have said Kenta Kobashi's Burning Hammer. But as it stands, it's a tie between The Muscle Buster and The Canadian Destroyer.

Oh, and the Vertebreaker and the Van Terminator.

Umaga's Samoan Spike-dislike it, I hate it when something simple like a throat thrust is made into a finisher.
MVP's Playmaker-This is his spinning leg drop facebuster, right? If so I dislike it for the simple fact that every single person in WWE who doesn't have a finisher uses this move.
The Great Khali's Khali Bomb-I can't stand Khali. Personally, I think Doug Basham and Albert's variations are done better. Or check out Hernandez' Cracker Jack.
Matt Striker's Golder Rule-See MVP's Playmaker, but I'll at least give Striker props for doing it a LITTLE different.
Judas Mesias' Straight To Hell- I'll make the same argument I did for Overdrive, too many finisher-less people use it because they don't want to come up with their own. I haven't seen Mesias' variation, though, so it might be original enough.
Canadian Destroyer-I hate this move. It looks so horrible when the opponent lands. At least the Yoshi Tonic looks effective, even if the opponent still has to jump.
Goldust's Shattered Dreams-What can I say, it's a nutshot. He's not the first person to use it as a finisher, and he won't be the last.
Deuce & Domino's Crack Em In The Mouth-Eeeeh...it's kind of weak for a finisher.
Power & Glory's Superplex & Bodysplash Combo-I dislike it when people use commonplace moves for finishers, even if they had been finishers in their own right at one point in time.
Batista's Batista Bomb-I've seen better powerbombs. See Mike, Awesome.
Yokozuna's Banzai Drop-I never bought this move. Maybe with jobbers, but not against someone like Bret Hart.
As for what I do like:
LOD's Doom Device
CM Punk's Anaconda Vice
TAKA Michonuku/Balls Mahoney's Michonuku Driver II
Chris Sabin's Cradle Shock
Jeff Hardy's Swanton Bomb
Hardy Boyz' Event Omega
Christian's Unprettier
Eddie Guerrero/Chavo Guerrero/Art Barr/Rey Mysterio/Christian's Frogsplash
Booker T's Axe Kick
The Rock's Rock Bottom
Gory Guerrero's Gory Bomb
Amazing Red's Raging Red (630 senton)
Billy Kidman/Paul London/Jushin Liger's Shooting Star Press
Christopher Daniel's Angel's Wings
DDP's Diamond Cutter
Umaga's Samoan Drop
Super Crazy's Moonsault Slam
Tommy Dreamer's Death Valley Driver
Dean Malenko's Texas Cloverleaf and Toss-up Gutbuster
Brainbuster
Superkick
Tiger Driver
Dragon Sleeper
Figure Four Leglock
Ultimo Dragon's DDT
Brian Kendrick's Sliced Bread Number Two
Triple H's Pedigree
William Regal's Regal Stretch
Double Arm DDT
Jake Roberts/Raven's Evenflow DDT
That's all I can think of at the moment, but I'm sure I can come up with more.
From Goldberg619 on 2/29/08 11:05 PM
I like Kennedy's Mic Check too.
Booker T: Scissors Kick
The Rock's Sharpshooter
Rhino's Gore
Jeff Jarrett's Acoustic Equalizer
Goldberg's Jackhammer suplex
From 92tombstone92 on 3/1/08 3:05 PM
Benoit's Crossface and diving headbutt
From silvertaker8 on 3/1/08 3:58 PM
In no particular order:
Chris Jericho- Walls of Jericho
Jeff Hardy- Whisper in the Wind and Swanton Bomb
Goldberg- Spear
CM Punk- Anaconda Vice
The Rock- The People's Elbow
Stone Cold- Stone Cold Stunner
Brock Lesnar- F5
Shawn Michaels- Sweet Chin Music
Triple H- Pedigree
I'm not sure the name of it, but I also like Paul Burchill's new move. Looks really painful.
I think the RKO is a stupid move and it wouldn't hurt if done on concrete.
The Pedigree or Anaconda Vice are probably the most painful on my list.
Also, I love the Undertaker, but the Tombstone Piledriver? Come on, the opponent's head doesn't even hit the mat anymore.
And Flair's Figure Four Leg Lock? Come on, I'm tired of Flair and his shenanigans already. It's ridiculous. I don't care how big his heart is. Ric Flair could not beat 98% of the current WWE/ TNA Rosters. He's a ridiculous excuse for a wrestler. I can't wait until he's finally put away at Wrestlemania.

Hey TheOne86, what's the Hardy Boyz' Event Omega? Is that their legdrop/bodyspalsh combination? Becuause I thought it was called Dislocation.
From theone86 on 3/4/08 1:04 AM
Yeah, that's Event Omega. I've also heard it called Falling Fate, but never Dislocation. Maybe that was like a real early call, or one from a different promotion?
